Waimea Coffee Company
About
Coffee Culture in the Heart of Kamuela
If you are traversing the rolling hills of Waimea, the Waimea Coffee Company stands as the essential pitstop for locals and travelers alike. Located in the center of town near the historic Parker Ranch lands, this spot moves at the brisk pace of a working mountain community. The air inside smells of roasting beans and fresh-baked banana bread, a familiar comfort as the cool upcountry mist rolls through the open doors.
The Island-Sourced Menu
This isn't your average quick-stop kiosk. The baristas are experts at handling 100% Kona coffee, pulling shots that pack a distinct, nutty brightness you won't find in mainland blends. Beyond the caffeine fix, their menu leans heavily on local suppliers. You will often find hearty breakfast sandwiches on house-made biscuits and a rotating selection of locally grown fruit smoothies. It is the kind of place where the staff remembers your name if you linger long enough to finish a second cup.
An Upcountry Morning Ritual
The space is functional and unpretentious, featuring wooden accents that mirror the rustic aesthetic of the surrounding ranch country. It serves as a secondary office for many Waimea professionals, meaning the atmosphere is often punctuated by the quiet clacking of laptop keys and low-volume conversations. A minor caveat for visitors: seating can become scarce during the morning rush, so be prepared to share a community table or grab your latte to go and enjoy it while walking through the nearby park. It is a quintessential slice of life in the highlands of the Big Island, providing a steady, reliable rhythm to the Waimea day.

My favorite coffee spot on the island. They also offer a wonderful selection of baked goods, sandwiches, bagels, burritos and other tasty treats. The staff are terrific-- friendly and efficient. There are a small number of tables inside or you can grab a table or bench outside on the porch or one of the picnic tables. Great place to chill.

Great iced coffee and breakfast bagel, but the burrito was absolutely the best! We also tried one of their baked goods (a peach bar), and it was amazing. Super friendly service, though I believe the breakfast items are made from scratch, so plan for a few minutes to get your food not grab and go. We were there early on a Sunday so it was pretty quiet. We sat outside on the patio listening to someone across the courtyard play guitar. Quite idyllic!

We stopped here every time we're in Waimea for coffee and snacks. Great selection of drinks, light breakfast and lunch options. I had the loaded everything bagel this morning with fresh Lox and all the trimmings. Delicious.

I feel so fortunate that this little gem was only a 10 minute drive from the home we were staying in! I got an iced Vietnamese coffee, which was one of their specials at the time, and it was delicious. I also really enjoyed the breakfast burrito and general vibes of this place. Plenty of seating outdoors as well as a few spots inside, and they even had a local musician one of the days we went! Very cute spot with quality coffee and food.

Waimea Coffee has amazing vibes and seriously great coffee. I ordered the macadamia nut café latte and it was awesome — smooth, flavorful, and the latte art was on point. Super Instagrammable. But what really stole the show was the breakfast burrito melt. I loved it. It came out with those perfect panini grill marks, looked absolutely spot on, and tasted even better. It had this unexpected little zing that was new for me, and I realized it was the black bean salsa inside — seriously amazing. Honestly, if I’m rating purely on food and coffee, it’s a solid 4-star, but the overall experience deserves a 5. The service was amazing, the vibes were immaculate, and the whole place just felt alive — people sitting outside drinking coffee and chatting, and even a few people gathered to play music. All in all, amazing spot with true Aloha spirit. Highly recommend! 🌺☕️

My favorite cafe experience on the island. I loved the menu it consisted of Proper coffee and they know how to coffee. In addition to that they feature smoothies, pastries and light bites. We ended up picking up a few of their beans that they retail. All in all, best cafe on the island and awesome service and decor and vibe.

We enjoyed our afternoon treat at Waimea Coffee Company. We enjoyed a cold brew and a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. For our snack we had the Kona Coconut Shortbread - which was amazing. We had a delightful experience with excellent service and coffee drinks. We recommend this as a great place.

The coolest coffee shop we visited in Hawaii. They won me over when Young the Giant was playing when we walked in. The chai latte was the best I’ve ever had. My husband’s cold brew was also delicious. And the breakfast burrito melt was superb. (It’s huge, so definitely something you can split if you have a more filling drink). So happy we stopped here!!

Excellent little coffee shop in Waimea Hawaii. They have some of the best coffee I've ever drank, I got the pour over coffee medium roast. Their Acai bowls are delicious, their bagels are fresh, and the brownies are fantastic. We were here almost every day of our trip. Looking forward to coming back one day soon.
