About
A Morning Landmark in Pahoa Village
In the colorful, eclectic sprawl of Pahoa, finding a spot that anchors the morning can be a challenge. Sirius Coffee serves as that essential community hub, where the hum of the espresso machine competes with the lively chatter of local residents. This isn’t a polished, sterile cafe; it’s a space defined by the raw, artistic energy that makes the Puna District so unique.
Sips and Bites with Local Character
The menu leans into the strengths of the Big Island, featuring robust roasts that wake you up faster than the humid island air. You will find a rotating selection of locally inspired pastries and light bites that pair perfectly with their signature lattes. The aroma of dark-roasted beans hangs heavy in the air, mixing with the tropical breeze that drifts through the open-air layout.
Why Locals Keep Coming Back
If you are looking for a place to catch up on emails or meet a friend before heading toward the coast, this is your spot. Expect a casual, laid-back environment where things move at a pace that honors island life rather than mainland urgency. Keep in mind that seating can get scarce during the mid-morning rush, and the parking lot around the main village strip requires a bit of patience. It’s the kind of place where the baristas likely know the regulars by name, adding a genuine layer of warmth that turns a simple caffeine fix into a daily ritual. Whether you are a long-term resident or just passing through the Pahoa area, the coffee here provides an authentic taste of Hawaii’s creative side.

Incredible local coffee with great fresh baked snacks - Update 2021 New owners, there is a very very limited menu. The coffee was very poor in comparison to the prior owners or other options for island coffee. Changed my rating to 1 star. I am sad to see it go after 5 solid years of visiting this establishment.

They know how to make coffee the right way! Nice place, great customer service...I keep coming back to this place for years. I am also originally from Europe and I think this makes me a little bit more picky when it comes to coffee...the strength and the smoothness is absolutely perfect.

Best coffee on the East Side. Cute little cafe' with a local artist vibe in the heart of Pahoa town. Many excellent options of sweeteners and cream, espressos, bagels, smoothies, local goods available.

I walked in as my 5 year old son wanted to check on the books right next to the entrance. We were greeted by a young lady who is very sweet and kind. She offered Nicholas more books to choose from, and as he found the one he loved, she let us take it for free. So kind, it made my day! The book contains a math and language exercises for kids - we love using it every now and then. Also, they serve a drink that tastes like pineapple kombucha - absolutely delicious. This tiny place feels so local, cozy, and emotionally warm... would love to visit again.

Seriously good local coffee (ordered drip, can’t comment on espresso) at an excellent price. It’s been surprisingly hard to find local beans out here, so I was delighted to get a cup of coffee here (mellow and awesome, as described by the barista). They accept Apple Pay, a win for geniuses like me who constantly misplace their credit cards.

I picked this place because of the name (astronomy is great). It's small and feels a bit like a 90s computer cafe, but the women running Sirius coffee are lovely and they know what they are doing. I've been here twice and it's now a must stop when I'm on my way to Pohoiki. The drinks are fantastic, especially the Sirius latte. Be kind and patient when you're here :)
