Pahoa Fresh Fish

They just keep raising the prices here.Six dollars for a small piece of fish and they want four percent for credit cards. As lady said, the prices went up because gasoline went up.But I don't see the prices go down.When gasoline goes down. I'm sorry but I said last time that prices went up.Which was about six months ago, and they went up seventy five cents that if they went up again, I would not come back.And well, I got a boycott.The place I ain't coming back just because people are having a hard time and gas went up.Doesn't mean you'd jack the rates up twenty percent for food. And it's not even fresh fish as advertised. The fish comes from. I believe the Philippines or somewhere in Asia and they ship it here frozen. I've seen the boxes where it's labeled, so they're not even paying high gas prices like we are in hawaii. The guy that owns this place is just constantly raising the price. And trying to make excuses for doing so. And well, it just keeps us hardworking local people from being able to buy food there perhaps a tourist can afford it. I'm done I boycott bohoa fresh fish.

Very good fish & chips. Five pices of fresh fish, you choose various types. Excellent waffle fries and decent cole slaw. All this and drink and tip for $30.00. Excellent value! Staff very busy but still friendly, engaging, and helpful.

Some of the best fish and chips I've had on island. There is limited seating but the food absolutely makes up for it. The coleslaw was crisp and the homemade sauces were amazing. I would highly recommend the crab cakes and the mahi mahi.

A local told us about this place. Big portions of fresh large chucks of fish and waffle fries. Limited seating, was busy so a bit of wait for food. I prefer beer battered thinner fish but this was very good too.

I have been on the Big Island for 10 years. This IS the best fish & chips on the East Side. Largest portions, & best prices no less. "Hole in the wall" are always the best. Get the ONO!!!

Best deal for fried fish on Big Island. Ordered the fried Ono and it was delicious. Also got shrimp and a crab cake and all were amazing (although the crab cake used imitation crab, the seasoning made it VERY yummy). Definitely recommend this place. And the ladies bread every piece fresh by hand when you order.

Excellent fish and chips. Choice of 5 kinds of fish- you get to choose; all one kind or any combo. Great waffle fries to go along with the fish. Limited seating options.

They learn your name, your order, and your life story. Very fresh, clean ingredients. Super friendly and just great people. As someone with a food allergy it takes a lot to build trust to eat at a restaurant instead of preparing my own food at home. The food is always exactly right, safe and delicious. This is my first stop every time I get back to Pahoa.

I stop by this place because I was craving fish and chips. I ordered the fish shrimp combo with onion rings. The fish was fresh and not geasy at all. I wish the batter had some or more seasoning in it but all in all not bad. Nice size shrimp and fish pieces. Friendly service price is not bad.

I stopped in for dinner after reading the reviews. The place is very basic, a couple plastic tables outside if you want to eat there, but the food was awesome! First thing I noticed when I walked in was that they were hand breading the fish behind the counter, then straight into the fryer! I ordered the shrimp and fish combo, and it was fantastic. I should've eaten it there, but I got it to go and drove 15 mins back to my Airbnb before eating it and it was still great. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town. A+++++
