Dinner and a Movie Elevated

Forget the stale popcorn of your childhood. Tucked away in the heart of Waikoloa Village, The Bistro at Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas transforms the traditional movie-going experience into a full-service culinary event. Instead of rushing to a separate restaurant before the trailers start, you can order high-end comfort food delivered directly to your oversized, reclining leather seat.

The Culinary Program

The kitchen prides itself on scratch-made ingredients that far surpass typical concession fare. You will find elevated pub favorites like Wagyu beef sliders, artisanal flatbreads, and crispy truffle fries that arrive hot before the film kicks off. They also maintain a robust bar program, featuring local craft beers on draft and signature cocktails that pair well with the dimmed, intimate lighting of the theater.

The Waikoloa Experience

This is the ideal spot for residents of the Big Island or visitors looking for an easy, seamless date night. The acoustic design is crisp, and the service staff moves quietly through the aisles, making the interaction feel professional and unobtrusive. Be mindful that the air conditioning can be quite aggressive during longer films—bringing a light sweater is a pro move for comfort. Parking in the surrounding complex is ample, so you won’t be circling for a spot even on busy weekend screenings. Whether you are catching the latest blockbuster or a quiet indie release, the focus here is on convenience without compromising the quality of your dinner plate.

Service was absolutely terrible. I stood at the counter and watched David and Malu talk story with a female employee and ignore me for 15 minutes. I asked to be helped then David helped me buy a couple items but he was not considerate and nice as he was with other white paying customers. I came back with my family and sat at a table and watched Malu ignore us and help other white families minutes after they sat down. We sat for 20 minutes and no one came to take our order. I walked to the counter and watched Malu and the female employee talk about guests and still no acknowledgment of a paying customer. I asked David can we get some help? Do we need to order at the counter or do you take orders at the table? David finally came to our table and took our order. I watched them ignore other tables with locals sitting and help tables with white customers. Terrible. They need training.

Decent happy hour if you want some snacks and drinks. Sliders, mozzarella sticks, ahi tacos all delicious and on the HH menu. Service was good, outdoor seating was nice (no view but plenty of seats) would eat here again.

Always great atmosphere, the menu was recently upgraded. The Baja tacos were really good, my wife enjoyed the taco salad, with double portions of ground beef, and the lettuce on the side. She enjoyed this dish for two days. We will be back to try the enchiladas, the table next to us ordered the enchiladas. They smelled and looked amazing!!!

We were staying at the Fairway Villas in Waikoloa, so it was a short walk to Queen’s Marketplace. We didn’t see anything compelling in the Food Court and we already dined at Macaroni Grill, so we tried this venue inside the theater. It’s a covered lanai between the entrance and the theaters so quasi al fresco. I had a Hendricks gin & tonic ($14) and a Turkey, Bacon, Avocado Club sandwich with coleslaw ($19). My friend ordered the Ahi Poke Nachos ($23). The ahi poke nachos weren’t quite up to the standard set by The View in Keauhou but it was fine. My club sandwich was fine as was the coleslaw. Service from Amber was personable and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised at The Bistro. We saw that food orders were being delivered to patrons inside the theaters. Now, that’s service! 3.5 stars.

A fast food restaurant dressed as a casual restaurant. They have openly copied Taco Bell's menu, as well as your favorite pizza chain. Live music in the afternoon which is a nice touch.

Not what I thought it would be. Going to the movies we figured, let's go early and check out the eats before. Very surprised with the beautiful layout of The Bistro. Outside coveted seating. Very beautiful visually. Amber was awesome and was our serve with Aloha and a smile. Food was great. The happy hour was amazing. You don't need to go watch a movie to eat here. But it was a bonus. As we came out of the cinema they had live music. Love this place. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

We have gone to the movies here , but have never eaten here before We had heard great things about their burgers, so we decided to try them. We did take away...food was ready exactly on time, and good and hot. The fries were good. The burgers were excellent.. we had the "Cult Classic" Double Burger... Reminds me of In N Out, in all the right ways. Highly recommended.

So we came her for a late lunch with 4 children. The staff was very friendly and prompt in seating us. Of course all the kids ordered milkshakes at $10 a pop. Ouch! Lol. We also ordered a couple of pizzas, the tuna nacho appetizer and a French dip. The milkshakes were basically melted ice cream with no texture to it. My daughter's ube shake was "edible" but a big disappointment. The younger kids said that they are fine and sucked them up. The pizzas were a good size and 2 were enough. The poke nachos looked amazing and tasted ok. The French dip was ok but the fries are a bit over cooked. The food here was 3 stars but the service and staff was a 5!
