Lagoon Grill (69-425 Waikoloa Beach Drive Hilton Waikoloa Village)
About
Lunch Under the Kohala Sun
Steps away from the shimmering saltwater lagoon in Waikoloa, the Lagoon Grill offers a reprieve from the afternoon heat of the Big Island. This is the spot for guests who want to keep their swimsuits on while grabbing a quick, no-fuss meal. You will hear the distant splashing of snorkelers and the low hum of families playing in the protected cove while you wait for your order at the open-air counter.
Island Casual Dining
The menu focuses on straightforward beach fare. Expect hearty cheeseburgers, grilled mahi-mahi sandwiches, and refreshing salads that hit the spot after a morning of exploring the resort's extensive grounds. It is a functional, breezy space where the primary goal is refueling without trekking back to the main lobby.
A Local Quirk
Keep in mind that the local birds—bold sparrows and mynas—are well-versed in the rhythm of this grill. They are notoriously quick to investigate any unattended fries, so keep your plate close and your attention focused on your meal. It is an honest slice of resort life: simple, efficient, and perfectly positioned for those spending their day by the water in the heart of Waikoloa Beach Resort.

Good place to get decent value out of your daily gold/diamond status credit for burgers the day you arrive. After that, I would say you should just use it to get drinks (particularly to use that daily credit if you aren’t using it elsewhere) and eat elsewhere. You can watch the dolphins from the patio or look out into the lagoon/bay, very pretty.

Lagoon Grill is the ultimate casual poolside spot at the Hilton Waikoloa Village — you literally dine steps away from the massive saltwater lagoon where dolphins swim and play right in front of you. The open-air setting with ocean breezes and that constant dolphin entertainment makes it feel like a true Hawaiian resort lunch experience. The menu sticks to classic grill fare: burgers (the Hawaiian Bacon Barbecue and Steakhouse Korean-style are popular), fish tacos, chicken katsu sandwich, poke salad, hot dogs, salads, and a few Hawaiian bowls. Portions are generous and cooking staff is extremely fast. Service is usually friendly and quick, perfect when you’re in a swimsuit or between lagoon activities.

Great low key food option while chilling at the pool. They have good cocktails, great sandwiches, and the hurricane fries are to die for. We came here twice for lunch over the 10 days at the resort. It was worth it for sure. I think the pictured sandwich was the club sandwich. Whatever, it was huge and incredible. I also quite enjoyed the burger I got earlier in the week. My wife enjoyed both meals as well. It does get very busy here, so you might expect some longer wait times. They’re serving two pools and a large seating area. Plan accordingly, but nothing was unreasonable.

Nice place, casual food and fast service. We ordered two kids meal: fish tacos and chicken with fries, and a poke salad. The salad was nice and fresh, the kids meal was too big for young kids but tasty and fresh. Service was fast and nice

Love hanging out here and their breakfast buffet is amazing. Get there early on Thursdays they bring the dolphins out and talk about their training and care! Well worth it and well worth paying extra for a beach cabana, snorkeling is great! Probably want to buy snorkeling gear and sunny lotion at Walmart or somewhere else the prices were high at the resort.

Great service and great atmosphere (watch the dolphins play while you eat) but the food is subpar, especially for the price. I had the fish tacos ($24) and instead of a fillet of fish, they served chopped up fish which were clearly scraps. The fish was very fishy too, to the point where I couldn’t eat it.

Overall review of Lagoon Grill located at Hilton Waikoloa Village within the resort. Excellent atmosphere and location right next to the Dolphin Quest and Lagoon swimming area. Plenty of seating where you can eat at and be served dine-in style or you can order takeout at the bar. Ate here twice and service is amazing and quick! From ordering to eating was about 5 minutes and the amount of food did not matter. Food temperature was hot and everything seemed fresh. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful with all questions. The prices are steep, but it is great food at a great resort. When coming to the big island, I will for sure be staying here and enjoying the food this place has to provide 👌🏾

We are currently staying at the hotel and so far this is our favorite restaurant on property. At least for the price! We have eaten there twice now and the food was awesome both times. Plus there is plenty of shaded seating and views of the dolphins too! But just to warn you, whatever they bread their fries with, it is addictive! We can’t get enough of them! We tried their club sandwich and the Japanese milk bread which they use is something special. It’s thick, moist and sweet so it adds this amazing flavor to the sandwich. We also got the fish tacos (forgot to get a picture) and they were absolutely loaded with fresh fish and the papaya added such a delicious sweetness! They also have a pretty good kids menu so my daughter was able to grab her usual grilled cheese and fries. She said it was good! She also had her eye on the turtle chocolate cake for dessert and it did not disappoint either. It wasn’t too heavy, the inside was almost frozen, plus that layer of chocolate mouse on top…it was so good to finish off the meal with an icy cold dessert! The second time we ordered the burger, the spicy chicken sandwich and the club sandwich again. The burger is amazing! Wow, we ordered it medium and it was juicy, high quality beef. We were just missing pickles!! But the server was happy to grab us a few. The spicy chicken sandwich was smoky hot! It tasted like chipotle chili pepper and I was there for it!! Coleslaw on top cooled it down nicely too. We also got the dynamite fries and if you like an eel sushi roll, this tastes a lot like that, except with fries. It’s sweet and creamy. And don’t underestimate the house salad with papaya dressing. I could bottle it up! I learned they make all of their dressings in house too! We will be eating there again while we are here. It’s not cheap, but nothing here is and the food is fantastic and it comes out fast! Just don’t walk away from your food! We watched a few unsuspecting families turn their backs on their food and the birds swooped in like vultures and stole it all! LOL
