Island Mornings Meet Southern Soul

Tucked away in the heart of Waikoloa, Kona Biscuit Company brings a refreshing shift from the typical resort breakfast routine. This spot captures the laid-back rhythm of the Big Island, serving up buttery, flakey biscuits that taste like they were plucked straight from a Charleston kitchen.

The Gravy on the Goodness

The menu is anchored by their signature fluffy buttermilk biscuits, which provide the perfect foundation for everything from deep-yellow, rich sausage gravy to locally sourced tropical jams. You will hear the sizzle of griddles from the counter, a sound that promises a meal made to order. Their classic breakfast sandwiches are substantial, featuring eggs cooked to a perfect tender set and savory, thick-cut meats.

A Local’s Morning Rhythm

The atmosphere is bustling and unpretentious, catering to families heading out for a day at the beach and locals catching up over mugs of strong, dark Kona coffee. It is the kind of place where the line might stretch out the door on a Sunday, but the efficiency of the kitchen keeps the wait times surprisingly manageable. While the indoor seating is cozy and fills up quickly, the air often carries the faint, sweet scent of baking flour mixed with sea salt from the nearby coast.

Why You Should Visit

If you are exploring the northern reaches of Kona and find yourself craving comfort food that isn't just another acai bowl, this is your destination. Keep in mind that the parking lot can get a bit tight during the mid-morning rush, so timing your visit just after the early morning surge is a pro move. Whether you go for the classic biscuit stack or one of their rotating specials, you’ll find that Kona Biscuit Company is a staple for anyone looking to fuel up before a hike or a day on the water.

Visited twice in our first four days. Amazing food. Get the basket of bacon it’s everything. Biscuits are phenomenal and the harvest omelette is amazing.

I came twice for early morning breakfast and sat at the bar. Amy was awesome the first time, and Nono (sp?) was awesome on the second visit. They both deserve raises! The food was fresh and prepared quickly. The first time, I got the Island breakfast platter (with a big biscuit), and the second time I got Spam and eggs and rice and a big orange cinnamon roll. cinnamon rolls >> biscuits. The bacon is not on the crispy side. The only thing I didn't like were the crude/obscene knick-knack statues on the bar shelves; they seem way out of place here in a nice bar/restaurant in Hawai'i (would be expected in an unrefined dive bar).

Regular American dining in terms of taste. What stood out in terms of food were the biscuits really delicious. We ordered the veggie omelette and loco moco. Friendly service +.

The location is a little deceiving, but it is inside the Queen’s Marketplace ~ the food was very good and the service was just fine. The choice of French Press 100% Kona coffee in three varieties what’s a pleasant surprise. (Light, Medium and Dark). We were staying at the Hilton and this offered a great substitution for breakfast. Definitely seek it out if you’re in the neighborhood and want a really good breakfast, It’s less than a 10 minute ride from the hotel. Definitely treat yourself to a nice big glass of chilled POG, a treat to unique to Hawaii.

DEE! My girl is a PHENOMENAL WAITRESS! Give her a raise! She made our experience here something memorable. We are big biscuit fans, so obviously we had to try this place. The biscuits are good with amazing butter options, we went the Lilikoi and it was great! The avocado toast was served on fresh focaccia, some of the best restaurant avo toast I’ve ever had. We also shared a country fried steak plate and an American breakfast plate. Their bacon is pepper and brown sugar-superb! The country fried steak, my stepmoms new favorite and she raves about it still. This is a new go-to for when we’re in town. The giant ube cinnamon roll was good but too sweet for our taste. The lattes are pretty good too!

Excellent American-style breakfast. Generous portions, flavorful, freshly prepared. Service was friendly and welcoming. Maybe the best option in Waikoloa Beach area. Coffee was delicious also. Highly recommended.

Had a great first experience at Kona Biscuit Company. It was just two of us and we were able to get right in without a long wait. The place was very busy. Lots of people enjoying a good Sunday breakfast/brunch. We arrived around 11 am. The service was great. Someone came to take our order quickly and then checked on us a few times while we were eating to make sure if there was anything we needed. I had the Kailua Pork Sandwhich and my husband had a single Biscuit and Gravy plate with a Fried egg. The Pork Sandwhich was excellent! The Taro bun that it came on was the bomb! You should definitely order it because you won't be disappointed! My husband said the Biscuts & Gravy was excellent as well. We will definitely be back again.

My wife wanted Hawaiian coconut macadamia nut pancakes and this seemed like the closest option. The service staff were friendly and helpful. They had biscuit waffles that were close enough and good. Two waffles are not enough for a big appetite and they are a little pricey for the serving size. This is Hawaii so hard to judge. 3 waffles would have been perfect at that price. Nice atmosphere.

This restaurant is not at the place where Google Maps shows, so we made the phone call and the owner is really nice, said they will waiting for us even they are about to close. The actual location is at Queen's Marketplace, easy to find after enter the entrance. The food and coffee is really good, typically american brunch, well cooked and served. The juice is also fresh made, you can easily tell difference with those NFC juice or other market products. If you don't know where to have breakfast and lunch, this is the place you won't regret.
