Island Greens
About
A Refreshing Escape in the Heart of Waikoloa
When the Big Island sun hits its peak, Island Greens offers a crisp, plant-forward sanctuary away from the tourist-heavy resort crowds. This local favorite focuses on farm-to-table integrity, sourcing fresh greens and tropical fruits directly from North Hawaii agricultural hubs to ensure every bite reflects the volcanic soil’s richness.
The Garden-to-Bowl Experience
Stepping inside, the aroma of freshly pressed kale and zesty ginger greets you before you even reach the counter. The kitchen prides itself on vibrant, nutrient-dense salads and poke bowls that skip the heavy fillers. Their signature dressings—often infused with local lilikoi or raw honey—provide a tangy contrast to the earthy crunch of locally grown arugula and sprouts. The menu is intentionally lean, favoring quality and seasonality over an overwhelming list of options.
What to Expect
The atmosphere is decidedly low-key and breezy, perfect for those seeking a quick, healthy lunch before heading to the Kohala Coast beaches. You will notice the open-air layout captures a steady cross-breeze, keeping the heat at bay. Be aware that during the midday rush, the limited seating can fill up fast, so plan for a grab-and-go experience if you are on a tight schedule. Whether you are a dedicated vegan or just looking for a clean, refreshing meal after a round of golf, the minimalist aesthetic and focus on raw, island-grown ingredients make it a essential stop for a healthy Waikoloa refuel.

Has vegetarian and vegan options, however the food is very plain and the serving sizes quite small. There was one employee working when we went and this meant the line moved very slowly despite his best efforts. Island Greens is inside a food court, another stall is under construction and there was terribly loud noise the entire time. As for the food itself, The tofu Bánh mì featured large slabs of unseasoned, cold tofu. The sweet chili sauce was tasty, but not enough sauce for the sandwich. The sandwich itself was smaller than expected. The veggie wrap was a better portion but completely unseasoned. Airport quality food at resort prices.

Great tasting food made with fresh ingredients. Salmon was moist and flavorful. Made a repeat visit for dinner and ordered the Kamuela bowl. The Kona rubbed steak, cooked medium, was delicious.

This is the spot if you’re seeking a fresh, light meal. Stopped in two days in a row, both times I got the Mex. Salad. Easy to modify for additional protein or vegetarian options. Staff was great, Rad stickers & rewards program! 5/5 Shakas 🤙🏾

We wanted something quick and healthy after hiking Pololū and this was a great stop in Waikoloa. We opted for 2 of their bowls, but you can make your own too. We got the kamuela bowl and the avo-cobb-o. Both were sooo good and super filling! I couldn’t finish mine. This is the only place I would eat at in this food court. Everything was made fresh as you order.

Delicious build your own salad bowl (grilled chicken thigh, mixed local organic greens/romaine/baby spinach)! Loved together toasted sesame vinaigrette and purple taro. Very kind staff as well

Food: The harvest bowls are fantastic. Freshly made ingredients in a rainbow of freaking flavor. Our kids shared a harvest bowl and ate everything. They loved the dressing. Service: Only one person working so it can be a little slow but just add in some Aloha and it's no problem. She was also very kind in switching out my bad drink. Drinks: The coloring of the matcha is terrible. Don't even both. The picture is not at all representative of what you get. I had to return it because either the oat milk or the kombucha was off. It did not smell good at all. I drink a lot of matcha and kombucha so I knew what to look and taste for and something was definitely wrong. Either way the matcha is not what is shown in the picture. The kombucha however is quite tasty.

We ate at island greens upon arrival to our island day one. We had been traveling all day and wanted something clean and fresh. Their sign healthyAF explains this place without further explanation needed! Clean eaters, vegans, and vegetarians will be thrilled by menu. Not only is this place extremely healthy their bowls are also super flavorful and unique. They also come in very large portions. One person can easily share one bowl. We just added additional chicken for a very small up charge. (Full disclosure: they reheat the precooked meats and then top bowl or salad. Chicken was still delicious but not sure if I would get the salmon). Line moved slowly but everything on island we noticed moves slower.

Great place for vegan and vegetarian options. Loved the kombucha on tap! If you're looking for a healthy meal on vacation, check this place out. It is located in the Queens Marketplace food court. Google has the pin in the gated community across the street.

All the veggies are super fresh and the meats are nicely seasoned, but why is the romaine lettuce cut in such HUGE pieces? I couldn't get a single piece in my mouth without getting dressing on my face. Why didn't I just bite it instead of insisting on shoving the whole piece into my face? Cause that's how I roll. Seriously, despite romaine sized for giants, the salads here are great. I love that purple sweet potato is a topping choice and the type of crispy onions they have are extra crunchy and didn't get soggy even drenched with balsamic vinaigrette. My steak was fatty in the best way (fat=flavor) and my mom loved her Southwest chicken salad. Eat here and feel good about yourself before going to OBISIC for shave ice and balancing out your healthy choices!

I love this new addition to the Waikoloa Food Court so much that I’ve been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The tofu harvest bowl is my favorite. The sesame dressing is delicious. Abraham was very friendly and inviting.
