Island Gourmet Markets (69-201 Waikoloa Beach Dr Space B1/B2 Space B1/B2)

Very sincere review: if possible, go to another market store over this one, even if it is a little bit of a longer drive. I am very disappointed with my family's experience here. We were only $20 short of reaching the $300 spending requirement for the free gifts. We spent a lot of money here, and every time we went, we received the same poor customer service. All of the cashiers who helped us were rude, curt, and could not even acknowledge the smallest greetings. The customer service was so unpleasant that it was not worth the experience. The food is not amazing, the prices are not great, and the only thing this place has is convenience—nothing more to offer. In one instance, I got a burger and a black milk tea with boba. I specifically told the cashier that I wanted boba, but she did not ring it up. When I inquired about the missing boba, a young employee addressed the matter with the cashier. They talked, and I said that if it cost more, I could pay for it. She rang up the boba with zero acknowledgment of her mistake. Nothing came out of her mouth. Complete silence. In another instance, I asked a cashier what the gifts were if we reached $300 in purchases. She did not say a word. She simply reached for a card with images of the gifts and placed it on the opposite side of where I was standing. She said nothing. I asked if those were the gifts, and she said yes. She then pulled out her phone while I looked at the card, and I simply said, "Okay, thank you." These are just a few examples of the many disturbing encounters we had with all of the cashiers. While on vacation in a tourist area, this is not the type of conduct or customer service one expects to experience. It was disturbing, and we dreaded going there despite the convenience.

This place has everything for folks living or visiting the Waikoloa Village area - from tourist related souvenirs, T-shirts, hats, etc as well as a food market such as fresh fruits, vegetables, a bakery, meat market, pre-made sushi. Really love this place. Got introduced to spam musubi and Hawaiian sodas here. Highly recommended!

My family and I were on vacation in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area and I went to Island Gourmet Markets a number of times primarily to get food. The poke and sushi were really good. They also had a good selection of items for the kids. Our girls loved the corn dogs, chicken tenders, fresh fruit and the Ube pancakes. They also carried Ube cookies. They were so good that this was one of the reasons I went there almost every day. At times this area of the store can get busy so be prepared to wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. If you are looking for a store with a little more of the local flavor I would recommend the KTA store in Waikoloa Village which is ~15 minutes away.

It was really busy. Kids going in the ABC stores in cute costumes . I was in line at Deli. The cashier name Laurel did a great job taking our order . Laurel helped us when we were having hard time ordering . Laurel is very kind and outgoing . I ordered smash burgers and my sister ordered furikaki chicken . I notice how laurel was taking people orders but people in the kitchen were very rude to her. So while we’re waiting for our food , we went to another lane to purchase our drinks and souvenirs. Elizabeth is very welcoming and her spirit very bright . She had a line and she did a great job handling. She is very patient with customers. I was standing behind a guy and his daughter wanting refund . Elizabeth called manager, right when the young man refunded the customer money back, he last minute told the manager he wanted exchange which was very disappointing because the manager end up yelling at Elizabeth for no reasons . Elizabeth smiled and moved on to the next customer which were me and my sister . She greeted us and helped us purchased our items. Me and my sister told her she doing a great job and she is so patient with the customers and her manager who was being very rude to her. We went back to the deli. It took like maybe 15 minutes to get our food. The food were great. We just sense that the work environment is very unprofessional. We walked around and there other employees speaking another native tongue, I am not sure what Language but made us feel like we were being looked down. There were a lot of yelling in the kitchen and less Aloha from other staffs. My sister was in line and met Kimberly, my sister said she is very sweet. She said her side was not as crazy like by deli and the register in the middle. She said Kimberly greeted her and helped her show where was the bathroom. If you decide to shop at ABC the price is crazy. We bought 2 hello kitty plush for $12, 3 chocolate boxes for $27 and lots of souvenirs like keychains, magnets, shirts and Christmas ornaments. We bought 10 items and it was like $200 some. The foods are great but the customers services just depends who you go to because some of them are very nice and some are not nice people but really rude. I just don’t know how the owners of ABC don’t do anything about rude staffs. This is my 3rd time coming and nothing changes. So sad they don’t care about customers satisfactions but only cares about what we purchased.

It’s also open late, which is a lifesaver for evening snack runs or grabbing a late dinner. We stopped in multiple times during our trip and were impressed every single time.
