4k Yakiniku Bar & Grill

Worth checking out for a change from the resort food, or if you live in the area. Super friendly service and it’s really fun to grill your own meats right at the table. Lots of TV’s for sports watching.

Very disappointing experience. We were very poorly welcomed in this restaurant. We had to wait around 5 minutes at the entrance while several waiters walked past us, looked at us, and didn’t even say hello or acknowledge us. Then we were simply told to wait, so we continued standing at the entrance even though the restaurant was far from full. The staff was really unfriendly during the whole experience. The menu already did not offer a very large selection, and when we tried to order, almost everything we asked for was unavailable or sold out. The food was absolutely not worth the price. It was extremely expensive for what we got, and it honestly wasn’t even very good. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant — overpriced, poor service, limited choices, many unavailable dishes, and a very unpleasant welcome.

We went on a sunday and it was pretty empty, good fast service and we left so full and satisfied. Quality meats…live the atmosphere.

I completely love my experience there my fiancé and I enjoyed our meat options as well as the sides. We loved our waitress Ari who did a fabulous job and we will definitely come back because of her. Thank you so much 4K will definitely be back.

Friend of mine met the owner on the plane to Hawaii. On our last night we stopped in and had one of the best meals while here. Also wayyyy cheaper than resort food. Take a quick drive from the waikola resorts, its definitely worth it.

Absolutely outstanding experience at 4K Yakiniku Bar & Grill. The quality of the meats is top tier, incredibly fresh, perfectly marbled, and packed with flavor. Everything we grilled came out tender and delicious, and the sauces and sides complemented the dishes beautifully. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Clean atmosphere, great vibe, and consistently excellent food. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an amazing yakiniku experience in Hilo.

Paul, our server, was welcoming, gave great recommendations on dishes to try, and how long to cook the meats. Loved the fried rice!

Fun family dinner with older kids who have the patience for the grilling (several plate meals are available for those who don't). We ordered bacon wrapped asparagus, pork belly, chuck tail, garlic shrimp and beef tongue along with fried rice, kimchi. Salad and miso soup. Service was friendly and attentive. The meats were delicious and the ponzu sauce was a good accompaniment. We all enjoyed!

The bartenders are personable and have big personalities. You won't forget your time here. If you enjoy karaoke or hot pot, this is the place to be. The hours are fantastic and you will get a more authentic Hawaiian experience compared to other establishments. God bless A and P.

Disappointing Korean bbq. Meats are not seasoned, grill doesn’t seem very hot and took awhile to cook chicken. Sides it comes with are absolutely tiny. It’s an expensive meal for what you’re getting. I don’t understand why some KBBQ places give plain meats with hardly any sides. Not a very flavorful menu.
