Zippy's - Hilo (E Puainako St)

My third meal they are and it was absolutely amazing! I think this is my favorite restaurant now. I'm impressed with how delicious the bacon was, the Portuguese sausage, the Korean chicken, et cetera. I can't wait to go back.

Best Korean chicken! Their chili pasta is amazing too. Love this place. Great option to order ahead and grab at the counter in the food court or in-house dining as well. Great service. Highly recommend.

Two hamburger steak plates all six pieces of burgers were burnt brought home for the pups to eat. That with service and atmosphere we have seen better days when lines were out the door to eat there, people didn’t wait 20-30 minutes to eat. I’m big on tipping but zeros. Tip: People choose your establishment provide them good service. Don’t let them leave with a bad taste in their mouths. They are going to tell everyone.

The food war amazing. We eat at Zippys on Oahu all the time but, here, the chicken was super good. Our server was amazing too.

Zippy’s in Hilo is an absolute gem for breakfast lovers! The menu offers a fantastic Hawaiian flare, with local favorites and creative twists that make every meal special. Their baked goods are fresh, delicious, and always leave me wanting more. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. If you’re looking for a memorable breakfast spot with mouthwatering pastries and a true taste of Hawaii, Zippy’s is definitely worth a visit!

I have always wanted to try Zippy’s after finding out it is Jason Momoa’s favorite restaurant in Hawaii. And just as he said, it truly is the ultimate comfort food. I accidentally ordered from their takeaway counter instead of the sit-down restaurant since it was my first time there, and I got too excited seeing all the food that I did not even notice the sign. I ordered the Chicken Trio Platter, which comes with white rice, macaroni salad, Korean fried chicken, chicken katsu with sauce, and their original fried chicken. The food was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty. Everything was perfectly juicy and crispy, and I finished it all even though the portion was quite large. I was so happy and full by the end of the meal, and I completely understand the hype around Zippy’s. It is one of the best fried chicken fast foods I have ever had. I also took away their ensaimada, which was super fluffy, soft, buttery, and not overly sweet. It was absolute heaven. The prices are reasonable too, and I cannot wait to come back.

As a Hawai’i native you sometimes just need some comfort food. Living on the mainland now I crave Zippy’s Chili with beans and rice. I recently discovered that they serve a Lilo drink which. Is also fantastic. Add to it the smiling faces of everyone here, Mia was exceptionally sweet and attentive.

Love this place. It’s to bad it has made it throughout the states. This place has a lot of Hawaii’s local favorites. Which is very delicious and tasty. With a lot of unique flavors and they have so many decadent desserts to choose from. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. And has two areas you can dine in. The first would be a full service restaurant and the other is like a fast food diner. Both are very good and the prices are very reasonable. Also it’s located in the Prince Kuhio Plaza, but you can spot the entrance from one of the sides entrances. There’s lots of free parking and it’s near other stores and food venues.

Zippys is open for dining and they have excellent covid procedures. The host opens the door, and if there isn wait they take down your cell and will text you when your table is ready. As is with many places, you sanitize your hands before entering. Not all tables are occupied intentionally. Menu is a piece of paper, not reusable menus like before. So no pretty pictures. But that's okay. Food is still 100% the same as before. Reliable, tasty and satisfying for a reasonable price and a smile. We had won ton noodle soup and saimin with a side of teriyaki beef and a mini loco moco. All good.
