About
A Morning Ritual Above the Clouds
Perched along the slopes of Mauna Loa in the heart of Captain Cook, Kona Lisa Coffee offers more than just a caffeine fix; it provides a direct line to the volcanic soil that defines this region. The air here carries a crisp, cool mountain humidity that blends perfectly with the earthy, roasted aroma wafting from the porch. It is a quiet retreat for those looking to escape the coastal heat and enjoy a cup of pure, 100% Kona coffee in its most authentic form.
From Farm to Ceramic
The operation is deeply rooted in the agricultural heritage of the Big Island. Unlike commercial chains that source from across the globe, this spot focuses on the local harvest. You will notice the difference in the body of the pour-over; it has that signature smooth, low-acid profile that put this specific stretch of Hawaii on the world map. The interior is unpretentious, prioritizing the view of the lush, green coffee trees over fancy decor.
Know Before You Go
This is a place for slow mornings. Keep in mind that the winding roads leading up to this part of Captain Cook can be narrow and steep, so take your time on the drive up. While the seating is limited, the experience of sipping a dark roast while looking out over the Pacific horizon is worth the trip. Whether you are a dedicated coffee aficionado or just a traveler seeking a moment of peace before heading to Kealakekua Bay, the straightforward approach to cultivation and roasting here makes it a necessary stop for anyone traversing the Kona coffee belt.

Got coffee beans. Worst coffee I have ever tried. I was assured that beans were freshly roasted but it was stale, didn't have any taste. Also, it does not have any roast or date mentioned in the packet which is quite misleading to assume it's fresh. I regularly brew coffee from whole beans and have a solid understanding of roasting, grinding, and brewing techniques using purified water. It's the beans that were not good quality.

Excellent coffee farm tour by Arthur. 90 min tour that feels personalized - includes understanding of roasting, produce, variety of coffee etc. The owner Guy has a big orchard like situation where you can try some fruits if available. Very informative tour and at a reasonable price. You get to drink unlimited coffee as well. Worth it.

For anyone visiting the Kona region, Kona Lisa coffee plantation is a must stop. The experience feels authentic in a very pretty setting, definitely not your commercial/ corporate operation. Guy, the owner and ( oh dear I forget his name) the master coffee roaster are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate which made the visit feel personal and I learned a lot in the 1-1/2 hr visit. The tour experience was impressive. I came away with a deeper appreciation for the meticulous process of coffee making, from hand picking the cherries to roasting them to perfection.. I was impressed with the hand roasting process and the use of a rare, nearly antique roasting machine. Part of the tour included tasting! As an enthusiastic coffee person I thought Kona Lisa coffee was especially tasty, smooth and well balanced. I particularly loved the French Roast, not bitter at all. It was a delightful day.

I have enjoyed Kona Lisa Coffee numerous times. This coffee is a full bodied rich tasting coffee. I consider it a premium brand and I highly recommend it if you enjoy great coffee. Best of all it is an authentic 100% Kona coffee grown on the Big Island of Hawaii. I know the owner of the Kona Lisa Coffee Farm and know that he is highly respected for his integrity and dedication to coffee production among coffee growers on the Big Island. He places priority on quality of the product so you can count on a high quality product for which only the best coffee beans are used. I highly recommend Kona Lisa Coffee.

I truly love their coffee! Amazing freshness and depth especially with their City and French Roast. I am always running out especially when I have frequent guests come to our home. I get both ground or whole bean. It’s so aromatic that it’s our favorite scent to wake up to. I love that it’s 100% Aunthentic Kona Coffee not like the others which are only 10 % (shocker!). My family & clients always request for me to pick some up and even send them across country. Guy and Jane are very helpful and friendly, too. Treat yourself and especially those you love to amazing, quality, fresh and “home grown” authentic Kona Awesome Coffee with Kona Lisa- you’ll love it!!! Brew some today...
