Hawaiian Ninja Shave Ice

Delicious shave ice! We got the dragonfruit li hing mui with ice cream added and it was very good and a nice balance between sweet and salty/savory with the li hing mui—definitely recommend. The medium was plenty for two to share. Ice texture was soft and snow-like and syrups tasted good and not overly sweet. The women working were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!!

Friendliest staff and the most delicious Shave Ice we’ve had in this trip. We shared a Blue Hawaiian…very rich and favorable. The ice was soft and presentation was beautiful. Highly recommend. $10 for a small

Really good shaved ice. We had the strawberry mochi and it was delicious. The whipped cream here is really special, it elevates the taste tremendously. Highly recommend although the price might be a bit steep.

This shaved ice was incredible. The flavors taste fresh and natural, not overly sweet or artificial like a lot of others I’ve tried. They use homemade syrups made with real fruit and cane sugar, with no artificial colors or sweeteners, and you can truly taste the difference. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the small is huge and absolutely worth it. I had the Blue Hawaiian, and others in our group tried the coffee & cacao and the piña colada. Every single one was amazing. My only regret is that we didn’t find this spot until our last day, otherwise we would have been regulars all week.

Another great experience at Ninja Shave Ice!! We discovered this place when shopping at the nearby grocery store. We came several times during our vacation last year and were always pleased. Coming back the big island this year we knew we had to come back. The shave ice is generous size and the syrups taste fresh and natural. It’s a tiny little place, so you have to stand outside until your turn, and they always seem to have a nice crowd there. The owner was so sweet remembering us from last year and giving us a free sample of the mochi.

Poor / obsolete greeting. Have been to loads - 100+ shaved ice, kakigori, bingsu shops in numerous countries and if it’s this small it’s window serve or QR code ordering without a single hiccup serving a dozen people at a time. We were the only people there, yet, found this setup very awkward through every step of the process, and one of the ladies came off quite rude ice quality: 3/10 Flavor: 8/10. Setup: 0/10 Friendliness: young girl - 10/10 lady - 0/10 Price: I wanted passion fruit - didn’t notice this place separated dairy options from non-dairy and the flavors are completely different. So the passion fruit is only on the *non dairy side* ends up being: 1 shave ice w/condensed milk and ice cream = $16.50, $20 after tip. Tbh i wouldn’t care about cost if it was a top 10 shaved ice I’ve had but it wasn’t. It just ended up being remembered as the highest cost I’ve ever paid for a single shave ice that had subpar ice quality (but good flavor). For that reason, along with the setup and menu being discombobulated, resulting in both the odd experience and price; I think it’s a 3.7. I will round up and give a 4 in case it was an off day for the ice and the lady. I still think the flavor is solid enough to warrant a stop if you have an itch - stick to the left side of the menu so you don’t rack up your bill (unless u must have passion fruit like me :D )

Hawaiian Ninja Shave Ice – Strawberry Mochi Magic If happiness had a texture, it would be the shave ice at Hawaiian Ninja Shave Ice. I stopped by during a trip to the Big Island and ordered the Strawberry Mochi Shave Ice — and I swear, I didn’t just eat it… I demolished it. I didn’t come up for air. I didn’t check my phone. I didn’t even think. I just dug in until the cup was empty and my soul was full. The strawberry flavor was bright and juicy, not that artificial syrupy stuff — the real, refreshing kind that tastes like summer. The ice was that perfect Hawaiian texture: soft, fluffy, melt‑on‑your‑tongue goodness. And the mochi? Little chewy pockets of joy. Whoever decided mochi belongs in shave ice deserves a Nobel Prize. I’m pretty sure there was a sweet condensed milk drizzle in there too, because every bite had that creamy finish that makes you close your eyes for a second. Between the strawberry, the mochi, and the silky snowcap, it was basically dessert enlightenment. If you’re on the Big Island and you don’t stop at Hawaiian Ninja Shave Ice, you’re doing your vacation wrong. The Strawberry Mochi is officially on my “must‑repeat” list. The only problem with this place? All other shave ice cannot measure up! By far the best I’ve ever had, the syrups taste so fresh, so different than the typical corn syrup laden, artificially flavored/colored ones. Worth the short drive to Captain Cook, wish I had found this place at the beginning of our trip rather than the end. We enjoyed the POG and Ube flavors. Will definitely be back again!

Fantastic experience!! Fast, friendly service, smooth shave ice, and real fruit flavors. No artificial dyes! I got the pina colada. The coconut cream was a DREAM! The medium was a great size, piled high! You will not regret eating here!!! Everything my group ordered, they loved!!

Tasty Hawaiian shaved ice! We loved the blue Hawaiian, the POG, and the strawberry mochi. The cold brew with coconut cream foam was phenomenal! Portions are huge!! Could may ask for a kinder, more helpful staff. After seeing it was our daughter’s birthday they brought a little decoration to top her shaved ice. Highly recommend!!
