The Shack

We have been to The Shack quite a few times. We only sat at tables until our last visit, when we decided to sit at the bar. Let me tell you something. Sitting at a table is a mistake! The service is hit or miss. But the bar? That's where it's at. Not only are the barstools incredibly comfortable, but the service was 🤌🏽 impeccable. Gigi took great care of us and made us feel more welcomed than all of the other times combined. We'll definitely be back!

We went out for lunch as a family on Mother’s Day with a party of six. When our server handed us the receipt, she pointed out that there would be a 4.5% credit card fee, so I decided to pay in cash instead. On the receipt, there were suggested gratuity percentages listed. Seeing that, I assumed gratuity had not yet been included in the total, so I left an additional tip for our server. I had originally intended to leave only the suggested gratuity amount of about $27, but because I did not have smaller bills or change, I handed over an additional $40 instead. The server then came back and asked whether we wanted our change back. I found that strange because it would have made more sense to simply return the change and allow us to decide how much additional tip we wanted to leave ourselves. As we were leaving the restaurant, my son went to use the restroom while I waited near the hallway entrance. That is when I noticed a sign stating that “for groups of 6 or more, an automatic gratuity will be added to your tab.” I do not remember whether it said 15% or 18%. This is a self-seating restaurant, and there is already a sign at the entrance directing customers to find their own seating. The gratuity notice, however, was posted on a wall to the side, making it very easy to miss. Realistically, when people go out to eat, most are not carefully reading every sign posted on the walls. We all go through hardships and difficulties in life, and on a special occasion like Mother’s Day, we chose to leave our home to enjoy a meaningful meal together as a family. It was very disappointing to later feel taken advantage of during what was supposed to be a special and enjoyable celebration. What upset me the most was that the server never mentioned that an automatic gratuity had already been added to our bill. Looking back, it is even more upsetting that she returned to ask whether we wanted our change back, despite knowing that gratuity had apparently already been included.

Just tried out the Mililani of The Shack and will definitely be back! My server was Dannie and she was friendly, efficient and checked in on me multiple times, accommodated all requests and I didn’t have to wait while closing out my check. Good service definitely is a huge part of the experience so kudos to The Shack on that. As always, the wings are my fave. Pleasantly surprised to see that I can get carrots instead of just celery! I came on a Sunday during football season and was easily able to find a seat. Every table has multiple TVs in eyeline for easy viewing so def recommend for game day.

I love the way the car looks, the food is alright, I had the mahi-mahi which was slightly overcooked, but the tots were awesome, and my husband loved his plilly cheesesteak. It was a bit pricy, but good overall, and the drinks are good as well. This was our second visit, and we will visit again

We've heard good things about this restaurant so he wanted to try this place. We started out with an order of potato skins. Lots of flavor, cooked perfectly. $3.99 for a draft beer was a nice touch. I ordered the black and bacon cheeseburger. It was a lot of burger to keep inside that bun. Salad came out with it was nice and fresh. My wife ordered the Ahi Tuna wrap. The tuna was a little overdone and it wasn't well placed within her wrap. Most of it was in one end. The flavor was good and the quantity was huge. We also ordered the sliders. The fries and the tots were delicious. All in all a unique place with a good local vibe. Lots of friendly laughter inside. They had tables inside and out. They also have trivia night on Monday nights at 7:00.

if zero stars were possible that’s what I would be rating. I stoped in the shack last week with a friend. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink. I ordered a seared ahi wrap ( our freshest fish just off the boat) with no wrap. When it came out, the fish looked unrecognizable. It absolutely was not fresh by any standard. It had a funky smell, The lettuce was wilted and greasy yet had the dressing on the side. When I spoke to our bartender/server, I was told that you can’t get fresh fish anywhere on this island anymore.( which is a complete lie and also false advertisement if that’s what they are saying it is ) and that they would not be remaking it because it was made as a favor because the chef knew my friend I was with.. I didn’t realize I needed to call in a favor to minus the wrap. Our bartender was a middle-aged Caucasian female, who was extremely rude. I do not remember her name. My friend I was with is a chief and refused to try the food that was brought out saying it looked rotten I would not have fed this to my dog. In reply to owners response. The kitchen was open when my order was made. Yes I do have a gluten allergy, and I came up with an easy option that didn’t involve any extra prep. I never demanded anything. I ask if it was an option to not have a wrap and just do what was inside of it. We also never ordered food from anywhere else because we tapped that and left immediately after.

This is a great place if you're looking to have some good food and drinks, catch a game or some fights, and relax while enjoying the atmosphere! I live a little bit away from The Shack but it doesn't stop me from coming by when I can! It is definitely a good stop for lunch or dinner. They have a great selection of good food. The staff is friendly too. This is my go-to when in Mililani!!

I have passed this place quite a few times and it always seemed very busy (in a good way), and my wife said I n multiple occasions we should go and check it out. Tonight was our first and and only visit. It was very underwhelming and disappointing. First and foremost, there was hardly anyone in there and it seemed like a task to just get us seated. Once we got seated, our server was very nice, but the soda machine was terrible as my drink was lukewarm and flat. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries (which is extra), I can’t think of any spot I have been to in which a side doesn’t come with your entrée. Those fries that are extra were terrible. They were cold and soggy. My burger was just okay. Overall I would not recommend this place and suggest one doesn’t waste their time going here. It wasn’t very busy, so I would be surprised if the quality would improve if one happened to go while it was busy.

Overall really good experience here! My wife wanted wings and I wanted burgers and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere.. And the serving staff was friendly and attentive. I got the Bacon Blues burger and my wife got the Ruben burger and for appetizers we got Teriyaki wings and jalapeno poppers. everything was great, we'll be back!

Pretty good overall, we had the spicy Italian sausage dog with all the fixins and the spicy chicken sandwich with all the fixins. The waitress had (Yeager) was phenomenal, speedy service and always willing to help. The food was pretty good and so was the specialty beer. For a first timer I would recommend it. There is a atm for your convenience. I also happen to notice there is a fish tank with beautiful tropical fish in it. The restroom was clean and the menu was not sticky or dirty like other establishments I've been to. The deck chairs are metal but comfortable. The beer prices are not on the menu. If you order a menu item it's extra for a side. The parking lot can fill up fast on a busy night. The waitress also put a personal note at the top of my receipt and that made me feel as if I was not another customer. Jake the bartender is 10/10 also.
