About
The Heart of Mililani Grocery
Stepping into the Foodland in Mililani provides more than just a grocery run; it serves as a cornerstone for Central Oahu residents. The immediate hit of the scent of seasoned ahi—fresh from the poke counter—greets you near the entrance, signaling why this spot is a local go-to. Unlike formal sit-down establishments, the energy here is fast-paced and efficient, perfect for families grabbing a quick meal before heading to the North Shore or catching a game at the nearby fields.
Poke Beyond Expectations
The poke selection is the undisputed star here. Whether you prefer the classic shoyu ahi with crisp onions or the spicy mayo version with a kick, the quality rivals many high-end seafood counters. Locals know to grab a tub of their favorite poke and a side of hot rice for an authentic island-style lunch. The counter staff works with impressive speed, though you might find yourself waiting behind a queue during the Friday evening rush as the town gears up for the weekend.
A Local Culinary Tradition
Foodland maintains its reputation through a deep understanding of Hawaii’s culinary identity. Beyond the seafood, you will find an assortment of bento boxes, musubi, and seasonal sides that reflect local cravings. While the layout is typical of a bustling neighborhood market, the accessibility makes it an essential stop for those residing in or passing through the Mililani area. Expect a bit of a challenge finding a spot in the shared parking lot during peak hours, but the convenience of having grab-and-go Hawaiian comfort food readily available makes the slight congestion worth the effort.

As someone who loves poki and sushi, I was very excited to grab some sushi from here. The sushi was 12 dollars for a roll which was ok because I was expecting the quality to match the price. My whole sushi role had the tiniest piece of cucumber and dry old shrimp. The roll was 98% just rice. I’ve traveled and have gotten sushi many places. I expected Hawaii to be in the top three. But this sushi was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Very disappointing and pricey just for a roll of rice.

It’s Mothers Day. I’m not sure who makes the flower arrangements but I had purchased just a single rose and when I got home the rose was separated from its stem. And it was black in between the cut which I can only assume that when it was placed in the wrap it was already cut. Such a disappointment.

Dina in the poke dept (also Dena cashier) was just awesome! She was very patient with all my questions about taking poke to the mainland, & the best way to do it. She doesn't know what a big deal it is for my Hawaii pals transplanted to the mainland to get poke from here!! I am switching all my grocery shopping to you guys!!
