About
A Bowl of Comfort in Central Oahu
Stepping into Saito & Pho Restaurant III, you are greeted by the steady hum of a bustling kitchen and the rich, fragrant steam rising from oversized bowls of broth. Located conveniently for those navigating the Mililani shopping district, this spot has become a local staple for anyone craving genuine Vietnamese comfort food without the pretense.
What to Expect on Your Plate
The menu leans heavily into traditional recipes. The beef pho is the primary draw, characterized by a clear, aromatic broth that reveals hints of star anise and charred ginger after a few sips. Beyond the noodles, the restaurant is known for its crispy spring rolls—the kind that shatter upon the first bite—and generous portions of vermicelli topped with grilled meats that carry a distinct, smoky char.
The Local Atmosphere
This is a no-frills environment where the focus stays strictly on the food. It is ideal for a quick lunch break or a casual weeknight dinner when you don't feel like cooking. Be prepared for a lively, high-energy environment during the lunch rush, as the dining area can get quite packed. While the parking lot in this particular Mililani complex can be a bit of a maze during peak hours, the efficiency of the service makes the minor maneuverability challenge well worth the effort. Whether you are a regular seeking a familiar bowl of comfort or a newcomer exploring the local Vietnamese food scene in Central Oahu, the team here ensures you leave full.

For convenience it remains a part of the rotation but don't get me wrong it could use some love in other departments. While it can't control parking which was designed badly I really wish this place had more taste. Everything for what it's worth is blander than other places that while out of the way show off more in that department. Also another perhaps out of control thing is food generally comes out slower than we'd like your mileage on this may vary. What doesn't vary is the price jump. This place was already considered by my friends and I to be expensive for what you get portion wise and instead of say increasing the portions or quality the price jump is virtually unfounded. Don't get me wrong I'm sure if they turned those around I'd be more happy to recommend this one but not getting my hopes and dreams as of late.

Medium priced good Vietnamese Food, okay Japanese Tempura. Batter of Tempura was crisp but very heavy/flat and a bit sweet, not airy and light as I prefer. Dipping sauce way too sweet, not the traditional salty dashi. Vietnamese Noodle Bowl with Lemongrass Chicken and Spring Rolls was tasty and done well. Chocolate Tapioca was a bit too sweet and strong on coconut milk flavor. Will we back to try their Pho next time and hopefully raise my rating.
