About
A Taste of Chef Elmer Guzman’s Kitchen
Tucked away in the heart of Mililani, Poke Stop has become a local staple for those craving honest, elevated island comfort food. Founded by Chef Elmer Guzman, the kitchen focuses on the marriage of traditional Hawaiian ingredients and modern culinary techniques. While the signature poke bowls are the primary draw, the menu often surprises patrons with creative specials that highlight fresh, locally sourced seafood.
The Atmosphere and Flavors
Stepping inside, the environment is straightforward and no-nonsense—this is a place built for the neighborhood, not for pretense. You will hear the quick, rhythmic sounds of the kitchen staff preparing fresh batches of ahi, and the scent of seasoned seaweed and toasted sesame oil fills the air the moment you walk through the door. It is the kind of spot where you grab a hearty lunch after errands or pick up a quick, quality dinner for the family before heading home in Mililani Mauka.
Know Before You Go
The culinary philosophy here centers on quality over flash, which means the menu frequently shifts based on the daily catch. If you are a fan of traditional seasoning, their take on the classic shoyu poke is a must-try, balancing deep umami notes with a sharp, refreshing crunch of sweet onions. Be prepared for a bit of a challenge when it comes to the parking lot during peak weekend hours, as this hub of local flavor tends to get quite busy with residents picking up their orders. Whether you are a long-time resident of Central Oahu or just passing through on your way to the North Shore, this is a quintessential stop for authentic poke that stays true to its roots.

MUST READ… I’ve been here a few times and it’s always really good but today I went earlier than usual and my wife and I smelled bacon and found out they sell breakfast. Was on the fence between lunch and a breakfast sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised that even 30 minutes from buying it, the bread was slightly sweet, and super soft but still held its own handling thick pieces of spam and 2 perfectly cooked runny eggs with Japanese mayo. I added bacon bc, idk it’s bacon. This sandwich will now force me to stop here for breakfast. The balance of punch in the mouth flavors was exceptional. They took something simple and made it with such precision. If I wasn’t falling asleep writing this I would turn back just to hug whoever assembled this masterpiece. This can rival any breakfast sandwich you find on island. Editors note* I’m a big back, believe me when I say, YOU will be back for this sandwich. Also they give you a salad as well so it’s safe for work 🤣.
