Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ (95-1830 Meheula Pkwy)
About
A Hands-On Japanese BBQ Experience in Mililani
Step inside Gyu-Kaku for a dining style that puts you in control of the kitchen. Located right in the heart of the Mililani Town Center, this spot brings the Japanese yakiniku tradition to Central Oahu. The centerpiece of every table is a flaming smokeless grill where you sear your own marinated short rib or filet mignon to your exact preference.
Sizzle, Char, and Share
The menu is built for social groups and families. Order a variety of meats like the signature Harami Skirt Steak in miso marinade or the Garlic Shoyu Chicken. The meat hits the grates with a satisfying hiss, filling the air with a deep, savory aroma that defines the Gyu-Kaku experience. Don’t miss the Gyu-Kaku Salad with its addictive crunch or the S’mores for a campfire-inspired finish right at your booth.
The Pulse of the Restaurant
Expect a high-energy environment. The bustling dining room, punctuated by the clatter of tongs and upbeat chatter, makes it an ideal venue for birthday celebrations or a Friday night out with friends. It can get quite loud when the house is full, so it’s better suited for lively groups than intimate, quiet conversations. Parking within the commercial complex is generally accessible, though the lot can get busy during peak evening hours, so plan for a short walk if you arrive during the prime dinner rush. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch or a long, drawn-out dinner with sake, this Mililani favorite turns a standard meal into an activity.

I usually come here for lunch. There is plenty of parking, the staff are friendly, and the space is comfortable and easy for conversation. The food is served quickly, fresh, and tastes great, and there are many promotions when using the app.😂

I’ve never been to a restaurant that does not allow strollers. I went during lunch and we were denied service even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Our infant is too small for a highchair and they couldn’t make an exception. Great job at turning away customers.

This restaurant experience is not for everyone! The experience is unique and can be enjoyable with a group of friends. However, I am not a fan of cooking my own food "for a price!" Pros: Plenty of menu options and add-ons. Reasonably priced lunch plates and drinks.

I visit this place often with my family and it never disappoints. The weekly offers make it even more enjoyable and the quality of the meat is outstanding every single time. The food always tastes fresh and satisfying and the staff creates a very welcoming atmosphere. Our lunch visit yesterday was extra special thanks to our server Isabella. She was kind caring and super prompt with everything from taking orders to keeping our glasses full. She made us feel truly valued and comfortable just like sharing a meal with loved ones at home. I also really like how the restaurant adds festive decorations during different seasons which adds a warm touch. This is easily one of my most loved lunch spots and I always look forward to coming back.

The food was delicious. I've been here 3 times now. They have an all you can eat menus with different price ranges. I believe it starts at $45 a person and goes up. Each level, you get more food options. But you have 90 minutes to complete it. The cocktails and ice cream were delicious, and if you need help with cooking, you can ask your waiter for tips.

I absolutely love dining at Gyukaku in Mililani! We usually go for the all-you-can-eat premium option at $65, and it’s worth every penny. While they claim you can only order two dishes at a time, we've found that it’s pretty flexible, and we often manage to order more than that. Just make sure you can eat it all! Some of my favorite dishes include the umami scallion rice, yuzu shishito peppers, and the beef tongue and intestine. Each bite is packed with flavor, and the quality of the food is top-notch. Plus, I can't resist pairing my meal with a lychee gin mojito—it's absolutely delicious and adds a refreshing touch to our feast. Every time I leave Gyukaku, I walk out feeling incredibly happy and stuffed to the brim—sometimes to the point where I can hardly breathe! If you're looking for a fun and satisfying dining experience, I highly recommend giving Gyukaku a try. You won't be disappointed!

Meh. I've had much better. The service from our server was a bit slow but she was very nice. The gentleman at the front hostess stand who checked me in was meh...I walked in to let him know we were there and he said we couldn't be sat until everyone is there and we'll be sat right away. Perfect, I went outside to get my family and we still had to wait another 10 minutes while they set the table. That was the whole purpose of checking in while they were outside. We opt for AYCE for the adults and for the children we ordered ala carte. They had to sit on oneside of our party which is perfectly fine. I understood. The meats were good which I had the pork belly, beef Toro (yum) and shabu beef (?). The shabu wasn't as good as I've had at different locations. I also was able to taste the garlic noodles and my kids raved about the fried rice. Happy they were able to accommodate a party of 10...

Great first time experience here! We've never had strictly Japanese BBQ before, so we were impressed. The food was great and the staff was attentive. It was a little expensive ($45 all you can eat on the lowest price package per person), but it was a great date night! We'll likely be back!
