About
Island Flavor Meets Beachside Casual
Situated right in the heart of Wailea, the Wailea Surf Haus captures the easy-going pulse of South Maui. If you are looking for a spot that trades white tablecloths for salt-crusted tables and the distant sound of breaking waves, this is your home base. The atmosphere leans heavily into a relaxed, open-air design where the breeze carries the scent of sea spray and grilled local catches.
A Menu Rooted in Pacific Waters
The culinary focus here celebrates the bounty of the Hawaiian islands. Known for their poke bowls that utilize fresh-caught Ahi, the kitchen emphasizes simplicity over complexity. The seasoned poke is often served with sides of macadamia nut-crusted catch or locally sourced taro chips. The refreshing Lilikoi-infused refreshments provide the perfect contrast to the heat of the afternoon sun, making it a go-to for sunbathers coming straight from the golden sands nearby.
The Local Pulse
Expect a bustling, high-energy environment, especially during the post-surf lunch rush. Because it is a favorite for both residents and visitors seeking an authentic, unpretentious meal, the space can get quite loud as conversations compete with the upbeat slack-key guitar playing over the speakers. A minor note for visitors: the parking lot is compact and shares space with nearby rental kiosks, so arriving during off-peak hours is often the best strategy to secure a spot quickly. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite before heading back to the Wailea shoreline or settling in for a long, lazy afternoon of watching the clouds move over the Pacific, the Surf Haus delivers a genuine, flavor-forward experience that defines the coastal lifestyle.

The food here was terrible. You have to pay extra to have cheese on the cheddar burger and fries are not an option as a side. You have to order them as a whole other item. The burger is all bun and a mediocre at best frozen patty. I paid $80 for a burger, fries, a watered down Coke and a virgin pina colada. I’d rather go next door to the Four Seasons. I also waited over 45 minutes for my food.

The food is excellent. The ahi tuna wrap with bacon is out of this world. We weren't sure we would like it and now we can't wait to eat it again. Ahi poke nachos are a good size and can feed two. Same with the kalua pork nachos, but I thought the poke nachos were better. Becky was our server, and she made our experience amazing with her recommendations, patience (we just got off a plane that was delayed for hours, and we were cranky), and fantastic attitude.
