Sandy's Beach Kitchen
About
A Casual Taste of the Wailea Coast
Steps away from the sun-drenched shores of South Maui, Sandy's Beach Kitchen captures the laid-back essence of a true island beach shack. It is the kind of place where the air smells of salty sea spray mixed with the savory char of local proteins hitting the grill. This isn't a spot for white-tablecloth service; it is built for those coming straight off the sand, salt-crusted and hungry.
What’s Cooking in Wailea
The menu highlights local Hawaiian staples with a focus on fresh, accessible ingredients that fit the humid Wailea weather. You will find hearty breakfast plates that fuel a long day of snorkeling or surfing, alongside lunch options that lean into island comfort food. The portions are substantial, designed to satisfy the appetite of someone who has spent all morning battling the Pacific currents.
Know Before You Go
The atmosphere is bustling and unpretentious, with a soundtrack of crashing waves nearby competing with the hum of locals and visitors chatting. Keep in mind that space is at a premium; seating can get tight during the midday rush, and you might find yourself hovering near a counter waiting for a stool to open up. It is a quintessential neighborhood grab-and-go experience that values flavor and speed over formality. If you are exploring the upscale resort corridor of Wailea and find yourself craving a grounded, authentic meal without the high-end price tag, this local fixture offers exactly what you need.

An excellent breakfast buffet, especially for those with dietary preferences! We stayed at the Andaz for 4 nights and were able to have the breakfast buffet at Ka’ana kitchen twice. I wish we were able to manage eating all 4 mornings, because I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I am avoiding dairy right now. All of the foods are labeled with whether they contained dairy, nuts, and/or gluten. Our server, Elijah, asked the kitchen to make dairy free potatoes and pancakes from scratch, just for me! He also share hot sauces made here on Maui, which I wouldn’t have chosen normally, but I appreciated the recommendation- they were delicious! The buffet itself is wonderful, with excellent juices, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold meats, fruits, vegetables, pastries, baked goods, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, salad, oatmeal, and more. There is a hot/made-to-order menu for omelets, avocado toast, etc. (for an extra charge). We sat outside, and the views were amazing. Staff was always nearby for any questions or needs. It is a good restaurant overall and I highly recommend eating here, especially if you get Elijah as your server.

We came here with my family to celebrate my niece’s birthday and were honestly blown away by how delicious everything was. The food was full of flavor and beautifully done. The atmosphere was great, and the staff made the whole experience even better, warm, attentive, and welcoming. Such a lovely spot for family moments like this. Highly recommended!

This restaurant has a fantastic view. The food was all very fresh. The menu was not overwhelming at all. The scallops and tuna were our favorite dishes. I might try a different salad unless you really love watermelon.
