Pilina

Arrived at the Fairmont Hotel and went in for a drink after getting settled. Caught the daily happy hour 430-530pm and had the cocktail of the day (Agave old Fashioned) and Under the Bannon Tree (margarita). Had some delicious, cold styled edamame and the Tuna Crunch, seared ahi Tuna with nuts and soy sauce, very good and light. The friendly bartenders are all very attentive and gave us some bar snacks as well, macadamia nuts and wasabi peas. The views are great too. Overlooks the pools below and the beach further down. Definitely worth it for a drink or even dinner.

Their bar has an excellent sunset view and amazing cocktails. However, the food is very average, and compared to what you get and how it tastes, it’s pretty expensive.

We had an absolute blast at Pilina! All of the bartenders were enthusiastic and excited to serve great drinks, make recommendations and made the experience worthwhile. Live music was great and honestly our fellow patrons (shoutout Steve & Linda) made the visit too. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Maui 🌴

We popped into Pilina just after sunset for a drink before our dinner reservation at Kō, and it was a highlight of the trip. The bar is stunningly designed, offering a panoramic view of the beach and sunset that is easily one of the best in Wailea. The atmosphere was perfect, featuring great live music and a funny, helpful bartender who made the visit memorable. While we didn't eat here, the cocktails were incredible and expertly crafted (especially the zero-proof Mango Thieves, a spicy mango delight with li hing mui pickle mango shrub, agave, Hawaiian chili peppah watah, tajin, lime, and a black Hawaiian lava salt rim that was absolutely mind-blowing). I gave them 5 stars across the board—this is a must-visit spot for the vibe alone, and it definitely makes me want to stay at the Fairmont in the future. Pro tip: Arrive 20–30 minutes before sunset to secure a spot at the bar for the best view.

Talk about WOW factor! What a view from the bar! Whales everywhere, even had binoculars to view! All the food/sushi was exceptional, and the cocktails were top notch. Well worth a visit, even if not staying at Fairmont.

A stunning bar with an excellent sunset view framed through the window behind the bar. We arrived late at night after our flight and wanted a light snack and a drink for our first night back in Maui. We ordered sushi and the edamame. The edamame portion is generous—easily enough to share between two, or even four. We ended up eating quite a bit, which worked well since it’s healthy, low-carb, and filling enough that I didn’t feel the need to order edamame again for the rest of the trip. 8-) The space includes smaller seating areas with sofas and tables that feel more like living rooms than a typical bar. Our waiter was very kind and personable, often squatting down to speak with us and nearby tables. I genuinely admired his flexibility and stamina. On some evenings, there is live music as well, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing views and amazing sushi! Literally some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the sushi boat experience presented by Chef Mark. Absolutely incredible - beautiful presentation and incredibly fresh fish. If you want the perfect sunset experience on Maui, this is one of the best ones. Service was excellent, too.

Best “hidden gem” in Wailea. Food, drinks, atmosphere, and especially the service are incredible. Pilina is probably the best hotel “lobby bar” I have ever been to. There’s an area to sit for more formal dining, but the open views to the Pacific from the bar are unmatched. Couldn’t recommend this spot more. We were able to walk in at peak hours without a reservation which was great. We canceled multiple dinner reservations over our stay to re-visit this spot.
