Ka'ana Kitchen
About
Fresh Maui Flavors at Ka'ana Kitchen
Perched above the crashing surf of Wailea, Ka'ana Kitchen embraces a true farm-to-table philosophy that honors Maui’s agricultural roots. The space feels more like a sophisticated residential great room than a standard hotel dining area, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the shifting hues of the Pacific sunset. You will hear the gentle hum of an open kitchen where chefs prepare dishes using ingredients sourced directly from island farms, such as Surfing Goat Dairy cheese and local Kula vegetables.
A Culinary Journey Through the Islands
The menu changes with the season, but regulars know to look for their signature breakfast buffet which highlights Hawaiian staples like fresh poi, house-made malasadas, and slow-cooked kalua pork. During dinner service, the focus shifts to small plates designed for sharing, allowing diners to sample everything from Kona kampachi to Maui Cattle Company beef. The kitchen maintains a transparent approach, letting the natural flavors of the archipelago speak for themselves without heavy sauces or unnecessary garnishes.
Practical Details for Your Visit
While the atmosphere remains elegant, expect a lively, energetic environment during the morning rush as guests fuel up for beach days. The service is attentive, though the open-concept layout can get a bit loud when the room is at capacity. It is an ideal spot for those seeking an authentic connection to Hawaii’s food culture while enjoying the panoramic ocean views characteristic of South Maui. Whether you are staying at the Andaz resort or just exploring the Wailea coastline, the kitchen offers a genuine taste of the island's bounty served with signature Polynesian hospitality.

Excellent food. Very pricey, with small portions, but tasty. Best to do this as a "small plates" type of experience. Views overlooking the beach are breathtaking.

An excellent breakfast buffet, especially for those with dietary preferences! We stayed at the Andaz for 4 nights and were able to have the breakfast buffet at Ka’ana kitchen twice. I wish we were able to manage eating all 4 mornings, because I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I am avoiding dairy right now. All of the foods are labeled with whether they contained dairy, nuts, and/or gluten. Our server, Elijah, asked the kitchen to make dairy free potatoes and pancakes from scratch, just for me! He also share hot sauces made here on Maui, which I wouldn’t have chosen normally, but I appreciated the recommendation- they were delicious! The buffet itself is wonderful, with excellent juices, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold meats, fruits, vegetables, pastries, baked goods, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, salad, oatmeal, and more. There is a hot/made-to-order menu for omelets, avocado toast, etc. (for an extra charge). We sat outside, and the views were amazing. Staff was always nearby for any questions or needs. It is a good restaurant overall and I highly recommend eating here, especially if you get Elijah as your server.

Well it's the Andaz so everything is a little expensive. Contrary to other reviews I thought the dinner service was pretty good. The food was fun, seemingly local, and almost all hits. As for the breakfast buffet, the more interesting items are on rotation, which was kind of disappointing Even as a tall person, the couches are too short for the tables, which was kind of awkward

At the Moment, this is the Best breakfast buffet along the Wailea beach path. I loved my meal and wanted to return. Also, every staff member we encountered was top notch. For instance, the hotel staffer at the main entrance pointed out our hotel (Grand Wailea) along with all the nearby resorts offered a free complimentary car service. Our hotel never mentioned this perk. Once we learned it, we saved $$$ on uber! As for breakfast, the waitress will take your omelette order and bring it to your table. No crowding around the egg station required! The Fried Rice was awesome. There was grilled beef as well. Honestly so many delicious items to enjoy. And price-wise far from the most expensive meal we had for breakfast. I want to stay at the Andaz now.

Ok this place is AMAZING. We ate here 2 nights in a row just so we could have the octopus salad again. The catch of the day & the wagyu appetizer were also standouts.

This restaurant has a fantastic view. The food was all very fresh. The menu was not overwhelming at all. The scallops and tuna were our favorite dishes. I might try a different salad unless you really love watermelon.

Taken the BEST care by our Captain John. Both Chef and Sou Chef brought out dishes from the menu they personally put there signatures on. Starters to mains followed by sweet. Also enjoyed special desert treats for a birthday and retirement !

We had the most incredible dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen during our honeymoon stay, hands down one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. Our server John deserves a huge shout-out, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He made us feel so welcome and guided us perfectly through our selections. His recommendations were spot-on! We ordered the Wagyu steak and the chef’s choice fish, and both were absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was beautifully balanced, rich, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts so much thought and care into each dish. The atmosphere was elevated yet relaxed, and it truly captured that Maui magic, intimate, open, and full of aloha. If you’re visiting the island, Ka’ana Kitchen is an absolute must. Thank you again to John and the entire team for making our evening unforgettable! 🌺🍷✨
