ʻIkena
About
Oceanfront Dining Above the Wailea Coast
Positioned within the grounds of the Fairmont Kea Lani, ʻIkena offers a dining experience defined by its sweeping views of the Pacific. The name itself translates to “view” or “sight,” a promise the restaurant keeps with its expansive, open-air layout that catches the cooling Maui trade winds. It is the kind of space where the transition from morning light to the golden hour feels intentional, making it a favorite for travelers looking for a slow start to their day.
Fresh Flavors in the Heart of South Maui
The culinary focus leans heavily into a breakfast-centric menu, highlighting the bounty of the islands. Expect classic Hawaiian breakfast staples elevated by local sourcing, such as pineapple-infused pancakes and hearty avocado toast prepared with seasonal, sun-ripened produce. The sound of clinking silverware is often punctuated by the distant rhythmic crashing of waves against the shoreline below, creating a quintessential coastal soundscape.
A Practical Tip for Your Visit
While the service is prompt and the coffee flows steadily, be mindful that the popularity of the breakfast buffet means the dining room can get quite bustling as the morning progresses. If you prefer a quieter, more meditative breakfast, arriving shortly after doors open is your best bet to secure a prime table overlooking the horizon. It is a vibrant, high-energy environment perfect for families or those preparing for a full day of exploring the volcanic landscape of South Maui.

Loved our stay here! Ocean front penthouse with three bedrooms, gorgeous accommodations! We loved the family pool for our little one and the adult pool for lounging. Workout facility was good, two peloton bikes! Plus the entire outdoor mall is just steps away; easy restaurants, coffee, shopping.. The staff here was super nice and very welcoming! They really made our trip special!

Had a great stay at Wailea Beach Villas. The ocean view was incredible. Also the location was perfect. Easy access to the beach and pools. The adults only pool was never crowded. Also we were in close walking distance to the restaurants at shops of Wailea.

My family and I celebrated my mom’s retirement and my birthday at Wailea Beach Villas, and it truly couldn’t have been more special. We grew up vacationing on Oahu, so Maui was new for us, and the property absolutely stood out. The team made such a lasting impression. Scott and Chip were amazing, so attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Nicole and Lisa were also incredibly warm and ensured everything was seamless from start to finish. It’s rare to experience that level of hospitality, and it did not go unnoticed!

Terrible service and not worth the money. Go next to the hotels around it and you will be treated 10 times better and get better service. What a waste of money and time.
