Minit Stop (123 Hana Hwy)
About
A Maui North Shore Staple
When you are navigating the winding roads toward Hana, Minit Stop in the heart of Paia serves as the essential pit stop for locals and road-trippers alike. This isn't your typical roadside convenience store; it’s a legitimate institution for authentic Hawaiian-style comfort food found right along the iconic Hana Highway.
Island-Style Fuel
The scent of warm, seasoned proteins hits you the moment you step through the sliding glass doors. The kitchen is famous for its fried chicken, which boasts a consistently crispy, golden exterior and juicy meat that holds up well for the drive ahead. You will also find the rotating display cases stocked with classic local plate lunches, spam musubi, and garlic chicken, all wrapped up and ready for a beach picnic at Ho’okipa or a long trek toward the rainforest.
The Paia Pace
Expect a bustling, high-energy environment. It is a functional, no-frills space where the line moves fast, and the chatter of surfers and local workers creates a distinct North Shore soundtrack. Keep in mind that parking in this part of town can get tight during peak mid-morning hours, so be prepared to navigate the shared lot with a bit of patience. Whether you are grabbing a quick breakfast bento or a post-surf snack, this spot captures the grab-and-go culture that keeps Paia moving.

Great place to shop for snacks before the drive to Hana. Reasonably priced. The fried chicken & potato wedges are very good!

Dont buy anything there! Bought drinks and snacks in the shop but Got a parking ticket, even though it said “customers only”. They were very hostile when we confronted them. Never payed the ticket, and heard nothing.

When you request extra gravy with your plate, they don’t put any in the plate and fill a small container with half. You request fresh chicken to go with your chicken plate, they give only the drums fresh, and the rest they grab what was in the case previously. This happened more than once. #waste

Paia minit stop workers is so doodoo boy status. They neva pay attention when you talking, They stingy with there condiments and they give you attitude when you ask them one simple question. Bra, not to mention I've seen the workers physically attack people that they assumed were stealing. Not even confirmed. The chicken, air or dust in that place must be doing damage to brain cells. Crack blocks to da fullest.

Came to get food, an older female associate locked the door before their closing of 9 pm and was staring at me through the door the whole time in a manner that made me feel uncomfortable; furrowed eye brow and not speaking. Ive spent thousands of dollars here in the last two years. I wont give you another dollar.

Under no circumstances go to this place. I had immediate explosive diarrhea after eating their tainted food! And the bittie inside tried to get me towed as I was running to the bathroom next door, since they have NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. The gaul of that lady. Keep going...anywhere is better than this place.
