Dollie's Northshore
About
A Classic North Shore Pit Stop
Located in the heart of Paia, Dollie's Northshore captures the laid-back essence of Maui’s surf culture. This isn’t a spot for white-tablecloth fine dining; it is a straightforward pub-style eatery where locals and hungry surfers duck in after a morning session at Ho'okipa. The interior feels lived-in, with wooden finishes and a casual layout that encourages you to kick off your sandals and relax.
What’s on the Menu
Known primarily for their hearty pizzas and substantial pub snacks, Dollie’s is the go-to for refueling. Their thin-crust pies are the main attraction, featuring a crisp finish that holds up well against generous toppings. The menu leans into comfort food, offering garlic cheese bread and wings that pair perfectly with a cold pint after a long drive along the Hana Highway. It’s the kind of place where the aroma of melting mozzarella and toasted garlic greets you before you even hit the door.
The Paia Experience
The energy here is distinctly unhurried. While you might encounter a wait for a table during peak dinner hours or hear the hum of the nearby coastal traffic, the atmosphere remains unpretentious. It serves as a reliable anchor in the ever-shifting boutique landscape of this historic sugar mill town. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite before heading further east or just looking to watch a game with a beer in hand, this spot offers a grounded, no-frills slice of North Shore life.

The catamaran trip to Molokini and turtle grove snorkeling experience was excellent! We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day (apply sunscreen liberally on your backside if snorkeling) and I lost count at 26 different varieties of fish I saw in Molokini and saw 5-6 turtles in the grove. The staff is amazing and informed. Very concerned with everyone’s safety as well as their satisfaction. The snacks and lunch were surprisingly satisfying for a boat based excursions and though the Catamaran is large (maybe 60+ passengers?) everyone was taken care of and we all had a great time. Highly recommend this tour! The best snorkeling experience we’ve had , comparing to Caribbean ones we’ve done in the past as well as another snorkeling excursion we had done in Lahaina in years past.

We took our family of four on this trip and had an amazing time. Our 11- and 8-year-old kids had an absolute blast. The seas were a little rough that day, but the crew was attentive and quickly helped our youngest before it became an issue. One of the biggest advantages was the short 15–20 minute ride to Molokini Crater. Compared to other charters with much longer trips, this made a huge difference. I tend to get seasick easily, but I had no problems thanks to the shorter ride. Once we arrived, the water was incredibly clear, and we saw an amazing variety of fish. The reef was beautiful, and snorkeling there was an unforgettable experience for our whole family. The crew was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. They also served a delicious three-course breakfast throughout the trip, which was a great bonus. Everything about the experience was fantastic. If you're visiting Maui, Kai Kanani should be at the top of your list. We would absolutely book with them again.

Kai Kanani Sunrise Snorkel was hands down one of the best experiences of our trip. The staff was absolutely amazing—so friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable from start to finish. Being the first boat out was a huge advantage because we got to enjoy the water before the crowds arrived, which made the experience feel so peaceful and special. The warm cinnamon roll and coffee on the way out were such a great touch, and breakfast after snorkeling was delicious and the perfect way to end the trip. The snorkeling itself was incredible—they took us to the best green sea turtle spot we’ve ever experienced. Swimming alongside so many turtles in clear water was unforgettable. As owners of Ohana Legacy Travel, we’re always looking for exceptional experiences for our clients, and Kai Kanani exceeded every expectation. We can’t wait to confidently recommend and send future clients their way. If you’re visiting Maui, Kai Kanani is an absolute must-do!

Our sunrise tour with Kai Kanani Sailing was an absolutely magical experience from start to finish. We were fortunate enough to see an incredible amount of sea life, including seals, dolphins, rays, turtles, and a vibrant variety of tropical fish. The morning was perfectly paced with plenty of hydration provided and a delicious spread of food. The conditions were ideal with gentle, soothing waves that made for a relaxing sail. What truly set this excursion apart was the crew; they were incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and provided a level of hospitality that made us feel completely at home on the water. I cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone looking for a memorable Hawaiian adventure!

That’s a whale! Midway through our snorkeling adventure the boat slowed to a crawl. Off to the side we could see a whale surfacing. We were about a mile and half off shore. Three SUP’s were there as well. I don’t know which was crazier. That they knew the exact spot to get close to whales or that they were comfortable paddle boarding this far out. Oh. And the tour? I had a fanatic morning with Kai Kanani Sailing. Great crew of young enthusiastic people guiding us and providing great food. Rumored to be catered by Spoon and Key. You board a shuttle at dawn for a quiet ride to the beach. At every turn a crew member explains exactly what to expect next. Boarding the boat pre sunrise in a light surf. You’re going to get wet. Watch your head coming up the steps. Here’s a hot coffee and a delicious hot! Cinnamon roll. And then getting to excellent snorkeling spots before the hordes. Pro tip: check out the shop. I found excellent gifts for the girls and an awesome beach bag for the family. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience and an amazing crew! We booked a sunrise snorkel tripes loved it so much we booked a sunset sail for later in our trip. We have done several different charters throughout our travels and this was truly one of the best. The oldest in our group was 87 and they were great with helping her on and off the boat and helping her get around. The youngest in our group was 26. We all loved it. The hotel pick up for the morning tour was also very helpful. Also Sam is the man and he deserves a raise.
