Wailua Shave Ice - Kauai

By far this has been the best shave ice of our trip! Tried Jojo's was not the kind of shave ice we were expecting, thicker chunks and not smooth. Wailua is the place to get that nice smooth shave ice! The fresh fruit on top was amazing. All of the shave ice we tried was delicious and they are open until 9PM. If you have been on Kauai for longer than 2 days you will notice most places close up early or before 7pm. We will be back for more shave ice before we head back home!

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. It’s an absolute must if you’re planning a trip to Kaua’i. My husband and I tried it on our last day and immediately regretted not coming sooner—we definitely would have gone back more than once. The Lava Flow is perfect if you’re craving something light and refreshing, while the Almond Joy is a great choice if you’re in the mood for a little chocolate. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to the island.

this is the best shave ice you’ll get on the island! we went here every night for dessert on our vacation! there are so many options and you can’t go wrong with any of them. i love the add ons to the shave ice too! i dream about this place all the time and i want to make a trip back to kauai just for shave ice!

I understand why this shaved ice is rated high, but depends on your expectations at the end of the day. The real fruit flavors are nice compared to the usual artificial syrups with shaved ice however I wouldn’t say I was blown away by the taste. The presentation is the best part. Prices are high but expected. Better than most shaved ice still.

Wow. I’ve never had shaved ice like this. It was the softest ice I’ve ever had. The fresh fruit, whipped creme and toasted coconut flakes added great texture without being too sweet. The ice was flavored with cremes, juice, and fruit purées instead of the typical syrups. They tasted more refreshing than decadent, and we loved it. I think this place has ruined getting shaved ice from anywhere else. This is the standard for me now.

Best shave ice on Kaua’i! Got the strawberry mango, and my parents got the ube. Very light ice and great natural flavors. Definitely check it out!

Our first time having shave ice and it didn't disappoint! Loved the almond joy with ice cream on the bottom! There are seats inside if you want to come in and eat or you can take it to go.

Yummy!! They have some fun flavors here at Wailua shave ice. The ladies making the shave ice were very friendly. There’s also outdoor seating. Can’t wait to try another one of their flavors.
