We got the poke nachos, shrimp tacos and potato Mac. All of it was DELICIOUS. I’m not a huge fish eater, but the poke nachos were the best thing I’ve eaten on the island

Sleeping Giant Grill has been one of my family's favorite lunch spots on Kauai for years. My wife, daughter, and I always look forward to coming here because the food is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The fish wraps are outstanding, both the fried fish and grilled fish versions, and the sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. Everything tastes fresh, the portions are generous, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the food. We especially enjoy sitting outside and taking our time over lunch. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again because you know you're going to have a great meal every time. If you're looking for one of the best casual lunch spots on the island, I highly recommend Sleeping Giant Grill. Steve and his team do a fantastic job. Mahalo and Aloha!

Update: Changing to 5 stars. The team at Sleeping Giant Grill responded quickly and refunded us. :) Mistakes happen and I really appreciated the way they handled this situation. Unfortunately we were headed to the airport which is why we couldn’t go back. The rest of the food we got was excellent. I will absolutely be back! Original review: I paid $26 for a salad with fish (the mahi was recommended) and it had no fish. Basically I paid $26 for lettuce. Got take out so didn’t notice until it was too late. Now I have to pay for a second dinner.

We enjoyed this food so much that we came back a 2nd time. The fried chicken tacos were amazing! My husband loved the fish tacos and the habanero chicken plate.

We went for lunch with our friend who lives in Kauai. We all enjoyed our food. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. We will go back again in the future.

Cute little eatery. Walk up, order, sit down (inside or outside), they bring your food to your table. It's BYOB, so if you like a beer or a glass of wine with your meat, bring it with you! Like my sister said; when they serve your food on a paper plate, you know it's good!

Very good food with super friendly staff & fairly quick service. Sort of hot food in a deli style cafe. Place was very clean but pretty small inside. We had 6 adults who all got something different and we all shared a bite with each other to taste, and all 6 of us thought everything was very delicious, so would definitely recommend as a stop for a quick lunch.

We're staying at the Aston Islander on the Beach and thought we'd hop next door to try the Sleeping Giant for dinner. Price wise, it seemed like one of the more reasonably priced places around, and also has some good reviews. My daughter and I both got the grilled fish plate for $25.99 to go. I was very excited to have some mahi-mahi. I was very disappointed. The fish was so overcooked as to be mostly inedible. I could not chew it enough to swallow it. At least my husband's chicken tacos were okay. Will not be visiting again.

Super speedy, delicious, had variety and satisfied every dietary need (especially vegans and vegetarians), affordable for island pricing! Very nice people and highly recommend! I got the adult tempeh bowl with no cheese and had the vegan cilantro sauce, devoured quickly! 11/10!

Amazing food and very quick service. This is definitely a place to have lunch or dinner in this part of the island. The menu is very diverse and suits all preferences. We had a seat ouside and ordered six dishes which totaled $126. We tried tacos, wrap and plates with chicken and ahi fish. Everything was fresh and delicious. A lot of free parking space as well. Highly recommend, the wait was only 4 or 5 minutes.
