Pancho's Pizza
About
A Slice of Kauai Comfort in Kapaa
When you find yourself cruising down Kuhio Highway in the heart of Kapaa, the scent of melting mozzarella and toasted dough acts as a natural siren call toward Pancho's Pizza. This isn't your typical polished tourist trap; it is a no-frills, reliable spot where the crust holds its own against a generous spread of toppings. It serves as a go-to anchor for locals grabbing a quick, satisfying dinner after a long day of work or surfing.
The Flavor Profile
The kitchen leans into a traditional approach, focusing on a robust, herb-forward tomato sauce that cuts through the richness of the cheese. Whether you are ordering a classic pepperoni or getting adventurous with local-style combinations, the bake consistently yields a satisfying crunch. The atmosphere is casual—think laminate tables, the hum of overhead fans, and the occasional chatter of residents sharing stories of the day. It’s the kind of place where you don't need a reservation or a dress code; just an appetite.
What to Expect
One thing to keep in mind is that the space is compact, and during the peak dinner rush in this charming East Kauai town, seating can fill up fast. You might find yourself waiting a few extra minutes if you arrive during the post-work window, but the trade-off is a hot, fresh pie that hits the spot better than any chain ever could. If you are looking for an unpretentious meal that captures the straightforward, island-town spirit of Kapaa, this is where you land.

Decent Detroit-style pizza, something I was not expecting to find on Kauai. Can walk down to Mariachi or Big Wave Dave's to have a cool drink while ya wait. Definitely a good spot in Kapa'a

Very delicious pizza! We can definitely recommend this place. Our highlight were the thin slices of pepperoni which very extra crispy, super yummy!!

I wish the owners were more involved in the running of this place because it’s always hit or miss. Some days, delicious. Other days, our crust is burned. Over all, disappointing. Want to love it. I keep coming back. But today was just ugh. Pics are of the less well cooked side, other side was even darker and crunchy. And why is a large pizza $43 for 3 toppings?? That’s outrageous.

Great food, phenomenal NYC style probably some of the best I’ve had. Prices seemed reasonable as well.

Delicious pizza. Still awesome the next morning for breakfast. An eclectic place. Not your typical pizza vibe. It very tasty food. They were busy the whole time with eat in and to go orders. We had the Wailua New York style pizza and it was amazing. They also offer Detroit style. Recommend this to satisfy a pizza craving.

We are suckers for good pizza and are always on the lookout for the gem when we travel. This place is it. We got the NY style and it was perfect. Fresh quality ingredients and baked just right. This place was worth every dollar. Just a heads up, they’re listed as being open until 9p. We got there a little after 7p on a Wednesday and they were closing at 8p. They were cool about us dining in and even though they didn’t make us feel rushed, we scarfed the pizza down pretty quickly. It was that good.

It’s rare enough to find a slice of perfect Detroit pizza, let alone a perfect NY slice, let alone perfect cheesy garlic bread. Yet Pancho’s has all three, with a chill atmosphere and kind staff to boot. I will remember this meal for a long time!

The pizza aroma is the first thing to strike as you enter the nook where Pancho greeted us. Tried both the Detroit and NYC style with fantastic multi-day risen crusts. The deep dish had outstanding texture and flavor. The only thing missing was the beer. Highly recommend with beach views across the highway and reasonable pricing for Kauai.
