About
From Soil to Sip in North Kauai
Tucked away near the lush slopes of Moloa'a, this coffee producer captures the distinct volcanic essence of the islands. Unlike mass-produced blends, the coffee here benefits from the unique microclimate of the Kapaa region, where the intersection of salty Pacific breezes and mineral-rich earth creates a bean that is exceptionally smooth with a lingering nutty finish. Walking through the estate, you are greeted by the sharp, sweet scent of flowering coffee cherries and the hum of honeybees tending to the grove.
The Art of the Roast
The operation focuses on small-batch processing, ensuring that each harvest is handled with precision. Whether you are a dedicated coffee purist looking for a single-origin pour-over or someone who prefers a bold espresso, the depth of flavor here is unmistakable. It is an ideal stop for travelers exploring the winding coastal roads of Kauai who appreciate a farm-to-cup ethos without the pretension. The facility isn't a bustling commercial cafe, but rather a quiet point of origin; keep in mind that since this is a working agricultural estate, the best approach is to plan ahead, as the rustic charm means you are visiting a working farm rather than a high-tech coffee shop. You might occasionally hear the sounds of local machinery or the rustle of palms, reinforcing that you are miles away from the typical tourist grind. It is a genuine piece of North Shore agriculture that translates perfectly into your morning mug.

This fabulous little coffee Farm is a golden niche located in the hui of Moloaa . If you ever get a chance to swing by, you'll find two of the sweetest people living there that own this little crafted chocolate company. It is certainly worth your time and effort to get ahold of one of their little chocolate bars. They'll even tell you how to eat it properly so that you get to taste all the intricate flavors. It's an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

The owners are an adorable couple. John showed us how he makes chocolate and shared stories of how they developed each type. He gave us insider tips on farmers markets, places to visit, and was a great resource. He let us sample all his chocolates (they're DELICIOUS), including coco nibs, and the chocolate mixing (it'll be ready tomorrow). His wife Daphne was so sweet and taught us how to pick out ripe apple bananas (they also have them on their farm). Best stop on our trip so far, and we're excited to see them at the farmers market on Saturday. I would SO much rather buy from their small local coffee and chocolate shop then large corporations.
