Island Country Markets
About
A Gourmet Stop in Kapaa Town
When you find yourself cruising down the Kuhio Highway in the heart of Kauai’s Coconut Coast, Island Country Markets serves as the ultimate pitstop for both local residents and visitors. Far more than your standard convenience store, this space functions as a high-end deli and boutique grocer that feels perfectly attuned to the relaxed island pace of Kapaa.
Island-Style Provisions
The culinary draw here is the extensive deli counter, famous for its grab-and-go poke bowls and hearty breakfast burritos that hit the spot before a morning hike. You will hear the sizzle of the grill and the hum of island conversation as locals grab their morning coffee. The menu highlights fresh, island-inspired flavors, including signature plate lunches and locally sourced snacks that you won't find at a mainland chain.
The Kapaa Vibe
The store carries a curated selection of resort wear and souvenirs, making it a convenient place to grab that last-minute sunscreen or a high-quality beach towel before hitting the nearby sands of Kealia Beach. Keep in mind that the parking lot can get quite bustling during the lunch rush, so maneuvering an oversized rental truck might require a bit of patience. Whether you are stocking up for a week-long rental or just need a refreshing drink after an afternoon of exploring the east side of the island, the atmosphere here is consistently laid-back, bright, and welcoming.

Convenient spot to pick up some lunch supplies (limited supply of lunch meat, fruit, chips) but be prepared to spend some money. Big souvenir section and it looked like a decent alcohol selection. Deli looked delicious but we didn't try it. Best pineapple I've ever eaten but that might just be Hawaii, ha.

It's a nice store overall but as expected it's expensive. Most of the staff is pretty nice but there are exceptions. We had one cashier had a fit after we attempted to return a garment. We had just bought it. We got eye rolls and mumbles and complaints and he was visibly angry. The food is pretty good

Nice store and the deli is very tasty, but staff was really rude. No sooner did we and several other groups sit down at the tables outside to eat our food then some kid came up and mumble mumble mumble. What? Mumble seats. Yes? I have to stack the seats you all need to leave. Given there were at least 10 people eating their just ordered food, your planning completely sucks.

A hidden gem for good, reasonably priced food in Kapa’a! I found this place in a review while looking for Gelato, and found out they had a deli that served food as well. We went in to check it out and it worked great for my wife, kids, and I. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger and I tried the build-your-own poké bowl, which I was stoked to see the 1/2 pound option for. Both of us thought our food was great. It had outdoor seating with almost no one, so was perfect for letting our kids do their normal thing and be crazy. We had gelato to top it off, which was good enough. Super casual spot, options for everyone, including desert, and outdoor seating in a nice little area to walk around. Saw a few locals get food here as well, so if it’s good enough for them, you should try it too!

Aside from being a store for tourists they have really good local style grinds. Good portions, decent prices, even choice of brown rice. Good place to pick up coffee and snacks too, one stop on your way to the beach.

Very surprised to find this great grocery store. Deli coffee shop, so close to our resort. The ribeye meal is a must. I bought a delicious omelette, and croissant sandwich, as well as a good hawaiian shirt. Lots of drink offerings.

Really enjoyed the prime rib I had. Despite being a bit over cooked, still very tender and a really delicious crust. Wish I lived nearer to take advantage of this delicious deal more frequently.

This place was our go to spot during our trip to Kauai! They truly have everything-from hot breakfast to snorkel supplies, grab and go food and beach essentials! We stopped here just about everyday which resulted in us leaving with several of their free gifts. Staff is friendly and helpful, food is good and fresh, and it’s a great place to stop for any essentials!
