Zia's Caffe Hawaii
About
A Little Slice of Italy in the Heart of Kaneohe
When you find yourself craving a hearty plate of pasta after trekking through the lush greenery of the Koʻolau mountains, Zia’s Caffe provides a reliable, no-frills refuge. This Windward Oahu mainstay has carved out a niche for itself by serving up classic Italian-American comfort food that hits the spot when you are not looking for a formal white-tablecloth experience.
The Flavors of Windward Oahu
The kitchen leans heavily into crowd-pleasing staples. The chicken parmigiana is the undeniable anchor of the menu, arriving with a generous layer of melted mozzarella and a bright, tangy marinara that clings perfectly to the noodles. If you prefer something lighter, the garlic chicken often surprises guests with its punchy, savory profile that pairs well with the relaxed, local pace of the restaurant.
Setting the Scene
Stepping inside, you are greeted by an unpretentious, bustling environment that feels like a true neighborhood dining room. It is loud in the best way possible—filled with the clatter of silverware and the hum of locals catching up over wine. While the parking lot can be a bit of a tight squeeze during the dinner rush, the casual atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a stress-free family meal or a laid-back Friday night dinner. The decor is simple and functional, focusing entirely on the meal rather than flash, which is exactly how the regulars like it. Whether you are coming off a day at the beach or finishing errands in the city, Zia’s offers that dependable, soul-warming hospitality that defines Kaneohe dining.

We love this place! Servers are all so friendly and amazing!! We always start with the brussel sprouts and cheesy garlic bread. 🤤 I'm not big eggplant fan, but my wife got it and it was the best I've ever had. Everything is so good! …

Great food, great service! We sat outside. The seating was surrounded with trees and little lights. Our server was so nice - she was super attentive. We didnt at any point sit there needing anything... she took great care of us! My friend and I shared a house salad and the arancini which were both delicious. I ordered the sautéed gnocchi which was so flavorful. I would definitely order this again! My friend got the chicken piccata. I didn't try this myself, but my friend said it was good. It looked delicious. For dessert we ordered coffees. I got the tiramisu, my friend got the apple bread pudding with Gelato. It was amazing. The bread pudding was shareable. I will be back again!

We had such a wonderful experience at Zia's Caffe. Even though they were clearly understaffed, everything still felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully handled. Our server Teiah truly made the entire experience. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had the best possible meal. From the moment we mentioned needing gluten free options, she made sure the kitchen could accommodate us safely, even taking extra steps to prevent any cross contamination. That level of care meant so much to us. She was also incredibly kind and friendly, taking time to talk with us and even recommending places to visit like a true local. It made the experience feel so personal and genuine. We ordered the white clams linguini with gluten free pasta, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were amazing and everything tasted fresh and perfectly prepared. Despite being busy and short staffed, the service and food were outstanding. We are so grateful for the care and effort that went into our visit, and we would definitely come back again on our next trip to Hawaii

Server was very quick and on top of everything. The food was delicious. The pasta here tastes so fresh. Portion size: we were shocked that for $18 during lunch you get entire bowl of pasta and a salad.

Cute and cozy little Italian spot in Kaneohe. The service was good, the food tasted great, and the prices were very affordable for the portion sizes they offered. We had the Tuscan chicken and the Tuscan braised short rib. Will definitely be coming back for an another cute date night!

Staff is absolutely wonderful. Amazing service, and delicious food. 10/10. Ate at 5pm, had no wait for a table, but by 5:30/6pm there was a 30+ min wait.

Enjoyed the terrace for lunch. Earlier reviews made it seem there would be more vegetarian and gluten-free options than they actually offered, but we made do. The risotto was rich in flavor and buttery. Cocktails looked more interesting on paper though.

We visited Zia’s Caffe right after it opened on October 14, and it was one of the best meals we had in Hawaii! The food was absolutely delicious, and the waiter was incredibly kind and professional — you could really feel how proud he was of his work. As visitors from Asia, we’re not very familiar with the tipping culture, so I wasn’t sure if my tip went through properly, and it’s been on my mind ever since. Honestly, this is the kind of restaurant where I’d be happy to give a 100% tip — it was that good!

Great atmosphere and vibe, for sure! Covered Patio has best tables. Chicken Parmesan was served over noodles with basil butter but was too dry overall. Express spaghetti was tasty and larger portion than expected. Friendly staff. Lots of parking.

We visited a cute little Italian café, and the food was delicious! We shared the cedar shola clams and the white mushroom pizza, along with some house bread. We sat on the outdoor deck, but just a heads-up—be careful of the wild chickens, as they might jump up unexpectedly. Other than that, everything was fantastic!
