A Windward Oahu Hub for Pastry Lovers

Located right along the bustling Kamehameha Highway, La Tour Cafe has become a definitive staple for Kaneohe locals looking for a quick but elevated bite. The space maintains a clean, minimalist aesthetic that keeps the focus entirely on the display cases, which are perpetually stocked with rows of vibrant, colorful macarons. Whether you are grabbing a post-hike lunch or a mid-afternoon treat, the scent of toasted brioche and dark roast coffee hits you the moment you step through the sliding doors.

Signature Bites and Cafe Culture

The menu here leans heavily into the artisanal sandwich category. The signature crusty baguettes—baked fresh daily—provide the perfect structural integrity for generous portions of house-roasted meats and crisp vegetables. The pulled pork sliders and the variety of banh mi-inspired creations are consistent crowd-pleasers. For those with a sweet tooth, the cafe’s reputation is built on their French-style macarons; they are crisp, airy, and feature a rotating array of local flavors like lilikoi and matcha.

Navigating the Kaneohe Experience

It is worth noting that while the food is top-tier, the parking lot can get remarkably tight during the standard lunch rush. It is a shared space, so be prepared to navigate a bit of activity if you arrive between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. The seating area is functional and bright, making it a solid choice for a casual meeting or a solo laptop session if you can snag a table near the window. This isn't a place for a long, drawn-out dinner, but for those navigating the Windward side, it serves as an essential pit stop for reliable quality in a grab-and-go format.

This review is 15 years too late tbh. What can I say is this a local family who just makes the bestest macarons EVER. Yes the bread is fantastic, too and their food is quality and yummy as well but again. Macarons. Never - ever liked macarons in my life until I had theirs. I’m from the Bay originally and trust I had tried many kinds of macarons (except in France itself!) and it just wasn’t my thing. Until La Tour reintroduced me. 🤤🤤🤤 the red velvet and cookies n cream are my jam. ✌🏽✌🏽 great splurge as a gift to someone, sure to impress.

Good food and good vibes! We went during a quiet hour (sometime between lunch and dinner) and there were just a few people in the restaurant. Ordered a burger and a (staff recommended) wagyu pho-ggie as well as an iced coffee and mint water. Our favorites were definitely the wagyu pho-ggie and mint water!

La Tour Café Iwilei is a European-inspired café that blends fresh-baked goods, local ingredients, and creative fusion twists on sandwiches, salads, and more. It's perfect for a quick lunch or casual meal, with a bright, modern vibe and reliable quality. One of the absolute highlights is the Wagyu Beef "Pho"ggie — a brilliant mix of pho flavors in sandwich form. Made with premium Snake River Farms American Wagyu beef, it's layered with house-made "Pho" mayo (infused with those classic aromatic spices), leafy greens, shaved onions, cilantro, fresh jalapeño, and a squeeze of lemon, all nestled in a crisp organic rustic baguette. The tender, rich Wagyu melts in your mouth, while the herbs and jalapeño add that perfect zing without overpowering. It's creative, indulgent, and easily one of the best fusion sandwiches I've had in a while. Portions are generous although the entrees do not include a side item so you'll need to order something extra if you want a side salad or fries. Service is friendly and efficient, and the café's overall menu (from paninis to fresh salads and those addictive macarons) shows real attention to detail. We enjoyed this place for a lunch date and would go back again---highly recommended!
