Temple Valley's Chinese
About
A Neighborhood Staple in Windward Oahu
Tucked away near the base of the majestic Ko'olau mountains, Temple Valley's Chinese restaurant offers a casual dining experience that caters to the local Kaneohe community. The atmosphere is unpretentious and straightforward, making it a reliable spot for a quick weeknight takeout run or a relaxed family dinner where the focus remains squarely on generous portions.
The Flavors of the Valley
The menu highlights traditional Cantonese-style comfort food. Patrons often gravitate toward the salt and pepper pork chops, which provide a satisfying crunch, and the steamed fish that benefits from the freshest ingredients available on the Windward side. You will often hear the rhythmic sound of a seasoned wok firing up in the kitchen, signaling that your meal is being prepared to order with high-heat intensity.
What to Expect
While the decor keeps things simple, the appeal lies in the consistency of the dishes. It is a quintessential neighborhood eatery, so be prepared for a bustling, high-energy environment during peak Friday and Saturday night rushes. Parking can occasionally be a bit tight in the shared lot as the evening crowd filters in, but the proximity to the Temple Valley Shopping Center makes it a convenient stop after running errands in the district.
Whether you are craving a warm bowl of won ton mein after a rainy afternoon in the valley or looking for a hearty plate of beef broccoli to share, this spot delivers exactly what you expect from a local kitchen. It is the kind of place where the staff remembers your usual order if you frequent the area enough, solidifying its place as a reliable cornerstone of the Kaneohe food landscape.

Great little hole in the wall restaurant with delicious food made fresh and friendly staff. This is obviously a locals favorite in the area and the locals aren't wrong!

January 2026: Some workers barely speak and understand English. Depending on who is working the front of house, it may affect your experience and your order. But they are all very friendly. Smoothies are made with fresh fruits, not powder, and you can really taste the difference. The prices are all reasonable for the amount and quality you get. They have two tables that can seat 4 and one table that can seat 6. Otherwise, it's mostly a takeout type of restaurant. It's recommended to stand in line to order even if you're gonna dine-in.

My go to for smoothies, they use real fruits. I love their Taro smoothie must try! and the Strawberry/Mango smoothie is ono. I haven't tried much of their food because they run out but I like their stuffed Eggplant and oyster chicken is good. Rice cake and coconut/red bean sesame ball is a good treat too.
