A Taste of the Philippines on the Windward Side
When you step into Pampanga Kitchen, the air is heavy with the savory, garlic-rich scent of authentic Filipino soul food. Tucked away in the heart of Kaneohe, this spot serves as a direct bridge to the culinary traditions of the Pampanga province—often hailed as the gastronomic capital of the Philippines. You won't find flashy decor or white-tablecloth service here; instead, you get a humble, bustling atmosphere where the rhythmic clatter of platters and local chatter fill the room.
Signature Staples and Local Favorites
The menu focuses on deep, comforting flavors. Most regulars don't even look at the board; they head straight for the crispy-skinned lechon kawali or the rich, tangy pork sisig, which arrives sizzling enough to pop and crackle right at your table. For those seeking a hearty lunch in Kaneohe, the combination plates are generous, often featuring bright, vinegar-based adobo or the creamy, peanut-forward profiles of kare-kare. If you are looking for a quick bite that tastes like a Sunday family gathering, this is your primary destination.
The Windward Experience
Dining here is a casual, communal affair. Be prepared for a tight parking situation, as this neighborhood gem is popular with locals looking for a reliable, no-frills meal during the lunch rush. It is the kind of place where you order at the counter, grab a cold drink, and enjoy the honest, unpretentious cooking that defines the Filipino food scene in Hawaii. Whether you are a long-time fan of Kapampangan cuisine or just wandering through the lush Kaneohe landscape, the flavors here offer a distinct, bold departure from typical island fare.

Went for lunch on 30 NOV. Very quiet, only one table occupied and no line. I specifically went to scratch my Pancit Bihon fix. Ended up ordering the small plate that consisted of Chicken Adobo and Pancit Bihon instead of rice. What an odd contrast those selections were. The Pancit by itself was nice. Noodles may have been cooked a little too soft, but the flavors saved it. I added a little condiment container of the garlic vinegar sauce that made me think of some old school Pancit Bihon. I think the Pancit would have benefitted from just a touch more sauteed cabbage and veg. The chicken adobo on the other hand was a disappointment. This was easily the second toughest pieces of chicken I have had. The portion sizes were fine with 4 large chunck of chopped chicken thigh as was the overall flavor of the adobo. To be fair, I made and served myself the toughest piece of chicken by purchasing a whole "retired egg layer" from H Mart on the mainland and tried to made a slow baked chicken. These toughness of these chopped chicken thighs reminded me of a retired egg layer. The toughness of the chicken could be a one off fluke or could be the result of short cuts in preparation. I'd hate to think that the feral chickens around Kaneohe come here to retire. Regardless, the flavors were good so will probably be back again at some point for the Pancit and maybe better luck with another item. Cashier/service was adequate, did not notice any signs of a dirty restaurant and not there long enough to see if they followed any COVID protocols for guests,

First time eating here, ordered it via DoorDash, and I was very happy with our food! Ordered Lechon Kawali with fried rice, and a Lechon Kawali/Garlic Shrimp mix with pancit. The Lechon is delicious! Crunchy, fatty, sinful goodness. And not too salty which Lechon can sometimes be. The fried rice was simple garlic fried rice, but very tasty! Pancit was good as well. The garlic shrimp on the other hand was kinda strange for me: it was very sweet, almost had a teriyaki kind of flavor. Unlike any garlic shrimp I've had before. I wasn't personally a big fan of it, but to each their own. Portions were also fantastic! It satisfied even my huge appetite. Coming from a Filipino family, I'm happy to have finally found a place for my Filipino food fix. Shrimp aside, the food was fantastic and I definitely plan to eat here again!

If you want authentic, great tasting Ilokano food in Oahu, this is the definite place. Full stop. My family ate here from Lanikai Beach and we were surprised that they had goat Pinapaitan, Dinakdakan, Pinakbet and more. The dishes were cooked respectfully and not just thrown together like fast food. It was just like eating back home. The owner Al came out to greet us and told us they were planning to expand their kitchen. We can’t wait to come back here. Btw their Ube Lumpia was so yummy!
