Kozo Sushi (45-480 Kaneohe Bay Dr)
About
Fresh Rolls in the Heart of Kaneohe
Located right off Kaneohe Bay Drive, this local fixture is the go-to spot for Windward Oahu residents craving reliable, quick-service sushi without the formality of a sit-down restaurant. If you are looking for a casual lunch or a fast dinner to take home, the menu leans heavily into creative, contemporary rolls that cater to local Hawaiian tastes.
The Menu Experience
Known for their signature Spicy Ahi and California rolls, the kitchen excels at providing consistent, affordable portions. The aroma of seasoned vinegared rice hits you the moment you walk through the door, a sharp contrast to the bustling, sun-drenched street outside. While the footprint of the shop is modest, the menu is surprisingly expansive, offering everything from bento sets to complex temaki.
A Local Windward Staple
This is not a white-tablecloth establishment; it is a functional, efficient grab-and-go hub that perfectly serves the Kaneohe community. Be prepared for a tight parking situation, as the shared lot can get quite busy during the peak lunch hour. It is best suited for families grabbing a variety pack for a beach day or commuters swinging by for a quick, cold meal. The service is brisk and straightforward—expect to be in and out in minutes, sushi in hand, ready to head back toward the bay.

This is the experience my mom just had: “Coming from Foodland Kaneohe I decided to stop at Kozo Sushi. I asked the cashier a tall friendly local boy if the foto maki sushi that I could see was to buy. He said yes, he just had to cut it and would let me know wen ready. I paid, tipped him and waited outside with my foodland wagon. After 15 min he didnt look at me so I went to the car to unload my groceries and then came back. 20 min and still no sushi. One person waiting but I realize there must be plenty phone orders. I told him as a suggestion in a calm voice to let the customers know how long it would take. And he had said earlier that he just had to cut the sushi that was already made. Then the sushi maker a local lady with her mask on yelled at me and told me not to scold him, and that she was the only sushi maker there and next time order on line. I have never had this happen to me and in the past Kozo Sushi service and food always great. I tried to explain, but she got louder and next time take your money back and dont order from Kozo anymore! Im shocked, would like to talk to her mgr and until then will not order from Kozo anymore.”

Excellent food and service! We had so much fun chatting with the employees here! The food was unforgettable! My son loved the California rolls. We enjoyed the Spicy Ahi Maki and the Philly roll. My daughter loved the kid's Spam Musubi pack too. Thank you for a memorable dining experience ladies and “Grouchy Old Lady”😂❤️

The sushi was really good, I liked the flavors and rice texture. I called in a order for a few platters, everyone I encountered was very friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend this place and come back. It was a perfect for 10-15 of us today.
