Heart Of Thai Cuisine
About
A Taste of Thailand on the Windward Side
When you crave the punch of bird’s eye chili or the creamy comfort of coconut milk, Heart Of Thai Cuisine serves as a reliable anchor in the Kaneohe food scene. Situated along the main corridor of this lush Windward Oahu community, the kitchen focuses on traditional staples like Green Curry and Pad Thai that arrive at your table steaming and fragrant with fresh basil and kaffir lime leaves.
The Atmosphere
Stepping inside, you are greeted by an unpretentious, straightforward dining room that prioritizes function over flash. It is the kind of place where locals drop by for a quick lunch or an informal weeknight dinner when cooking at home feels like too much of a chore. You will notice the rhythmic clanging of the wok—the heartbeat of the kitchen—constantly signaling the preparation of fresh orders. While the space is compact and can get a bit brisk due to the air conditioning, the warmth of the spicy Panang curry quickly balances the chill.
Chef-Driven Traditions
The menu highlights authentic preparations that stay true to regional Thai roots. The chefs here don’t shy away from heat; if you ask for spicy, prepare for a genuine challenge to the palate. The Crispy Pork Belly and Drunken Noodles remain standout choices for those looking to experience the full spectrum of sweet, sour, and savory profiles. Parking in the surrounding plaza can be a bit of a game of musical chairs during peak lunch hours, so plan for a short walk if the lot is buzzing with activity. Whether you are a Kaneohe resident or passing through on your way back from the North Shore, this spot offers a reliable fix for anyone seeking honest, no-frills Thai cooking in an accessible neighborhood setting.

I recently dined at Heart of Thai and the food was exactly what I’d hoped for—the Red Curry was authentic and delicious. I also want to commend the staff; my server was incredibly gracious, making the experience feel welcoming and personal. My only point of constructive feedback: I was disappointed to find no green tea on the menu. As a staple of the culture and a favorite for many diners, its absence was a missed opportunity for an otherwise stellar meal. I’m happy to give 5 stars today because the service was so strong, but I truly hope to see tea added to the menu soon!

Awesome Thai cuisine! A small in size but large in flavor restaurant! My wife and I were famished after touring the Byodo-In Temple and nothing satisfies like Thai! And we were happy to see this restaurant pop up on Google Maps. The service was prompt and attentive, the food was everything you would want in Thai cuisine, and the atmosphere was a cozy family run eatery. Only six tables, but the space was used effectively. The food was great. The Pad Se Eew was particularly good, the wide noodles were fantastic! The chicken Satay was tender with a fab sauce. My wife ordered the Spicy Noodles, which I were also delish. We both ordered medium hot which was perfect! The meal was promptly served and the waiter was attentive. An easy, quick, and very satisfying lunch!

Heart of Thai – My New Favorite Spot! Hands down, Heart of Thai is my new favorite restaurant! The food was absolutely ono—so flavorful and satisfying. I tried the Pad Thai, Chicken Cashew, and Yellow Curry, all of which were packed with rich, authentic Thai flavors. To top it off, I had sticky rice with mango for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Not only was the food amazing, but the presentation was also adorable—all the plates were heart-shaped, adding a unique and charming touch. Located in the heart of Kaneohe, this spot is definitely a must-visit for Thai food lovers. I’ll be coming back for sure!

They have the best Thai food in Oahu , I can say that after tasting numerous restaurants! Also, vegan friendly! The pad Thai , Jungle fried rice and Thai ice tea are worth repeating! They have unique way of serving spring rolls with mint and we loved it! We visited this place twice during our stay !

We stopped in for lunch to this small family owned thai restaurant and were greeted like family. We enjoyed the good food and Chris made us feel like friends. He was also very accommodating to my vegetarian daughter. I highly recommend you checking it out.
