Fresh Catch (45-1118 Kamehameha Hwy)
About
Windward Island Flavors
When you find yourself cruising along the Windward Coast, the local appetite often points toward Fresh Catch in Kaneohe. This isn't your typical sit-down white tablecloth establishment; it is a bustling hub for those who prioritize the catch of the day over fancy decor. The air is perpetually heavy with the scent of seasoned ahi and shoyu, a signature aroma that greets you the moment you step off the busy highway.
The Poke Authority
Chef Reno Henriques built this local institution on a foundation of traditional Hawaiian culinary roots. The menu leans heavily into diverse poke preparations—from the classic spicy ahi that delivers a sharp, clean heat to the more experimental preparations that keep the local crowd coming back on their lunch breaks. You will see patrons huddled around the counter, debating which version of the raw fish best showcases the day's quality.
A Local State of Mind
Be prepared for a casual, fast-paced environment. It can get cramped during the mid-day rush, and the parking lot in this specific stretch of Kaneohe can be a bit of a dance, but the trade-off is undeniable access to some of the most reliable seafood in the area. Whether you are grabbing a plate lunch to head toward the beach or picking up containers for a family gathering, the food remains consistently grounded in local tradition. There is a distinct hum of conversation and the sound of industrial coolers keeping the fish at perfect temperature, anchoring the space in the reality of a working seafood market.

I loved the whole experience! Fish is so fresh and delicious. I’m so sad I discovered it by the end of my trip, otherwise I would eat it twice a day everyday. Their creamy wasabi and smoked tako are SO GOOD! The young girl with black hair is so kind and nice, serves you patiently and fast. Such a great place!!!!! Their bathroom key is so funny!

A coworker and I are in town and he said we must visit Fresh Catch. Any trip to Oahu is incomplete without a poke bowl from Fresh Catch. Man, was he right!? Delicious fresh ahi shoyu and rice. The staff treated us like family, offered samples and a warm smile. The decor was beautiful and tables gorgeous. Highly recommend!

We’re travel foodies and travel mostly to just eat. Drove out of our way to come here a second time in our week trip to Oahu simply because it was so good! Fish is extremely fresh and has no fishy taste at all. Perfectly fried/seared fish with delicious seasonings, at a very reasonable price. We liked everything, but the seared/fried tuna was the highlight. Small first floor dining area with large upstairs dining area. Minor plus - no tip option! A stop that absolutely should not be missed on the island.

Ten hour layover in Oahu and stumbled upon Fresh Catch on our way to Byodo-in. Needed a quick lunch and it was an unforgettable choice. Their Hawaiian poke was probably the best I’ve ever had. The spicy ahi katsu was incredible. Worthy portions. We’re back home and still dreaming of it. Service was quick. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit.

The food was incredibly delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes, and mine was salmon with seaweed and some poke. I believe one of the poke was Hawaiian style and loved it so much! The plate was pretty big I was not able to finish all of the rice. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this place.

Fresh Catch was open Thanksgiving day and I was so excited and so grateful! I am a healthcare contractor from the mainland and saw YouTube videographer Sean Kaleponi's video about Kaneohe and decided to head there yesterday. I was so excited when I walked in and they allowed me to have THANKSGIVING POKE hawaiian style! My day instantly became memorable as the young girl was so friendly and the poke was to die for!!! The coconut Octopus and the spicy Ahi Were amazing! I can't begin to thank you enough for giving me such an incredibly delicious Hawaiian Thanksgiving!!! I can't wait to come back again and again!!! Mahalo nui loa!!!

The food and service here were amazing!! I definitely recommend the wasabi shoyu ahi poke and the kitchen sink poke. Both were extremely flavorful. The fish and chips were 10/10. The fish was perfectly crispy and so flavorful, the fries were super crispy and honestly the best I’ve had. The eating area upstairs is really nice and clean, and the service was awesome. The ladies helped answer our questions and decide what to order. Don’t skip this gem!
