Paradise Brewing Company Tap and Grill
About
Sun-Drenched Sips in the Heart of Kona
When the humidity peaks in Kailua-Kona and you need a break from the ocean heat, Paradise Brewing Company Tap and Grill serves as a reliable anchor for locals and visitors alike. Perched within the industrial corners of the Big Island, this spot ditches the resort-style fluff for an authentic, no-nonsense brewpub experience. The space is anchored by stainless steel tanks that hint at the craft flowing through the taps, offering a rotating lineup of ales that capture the tropical palate—expect heavy doses of local fruit infusions and crisp, hop-forward profiles designed for island weather.
The Flavor of the Big Island
The kitchen leans into hearty comfort food that pairs effortlessly with a cold pint. Whether you are craving a thick, juicy burger or shareable appetizers to split with a group after a day of snorkeling, the menu is built for appetite satisfaction. The scent of charred beef and toasted buns hits you the moment you walk through the doors, blending with the faint, yeasty aroma of the brewing process. It is the kind of place where you can comfortably walk in with sandy feet and salt-crusted hair, grab a high-top table, and watch the game on one of the many screens.
A Local Perspective
While the atmosphere is relaxed, keep in mind that parking in this busy Kona commercial district can be a bit of a puzzle during peak happy hours. Navigating the lot requires a bit of patience, but the payoff is a cold glass of beer served by staff who actually know the origin of the grains. It is a loud, lively environment—ideal for groups of friends looking to trade stories of the day’s surf or those just looking to escape the tourist track for a few hours of honest hospitality.

Great atmosphere, good food. Only had one beer unfortunately. Pizza was good. Crust was light and crunchy. Chicken tenders for the kids was good too. Great portion size for kids

Excellent beer, great service, nice atmosphere, and good food. I highly recommend Kona Brewing on your visit to Big Island. I also recommend making reservations, as it's a very popular spot.

We had drinks and loaded nachos around 4:30 on a Tues. It was fairly busy. We sat in a side area. Reception and service was fast, friendly and professional. Drinks were a Rum Punch, a Mango Marguerita, and a Flight of 4 beers. The food and drinks were great. There was live music for the first 20 minutes of our stay, which was a bit on the loud side. There's also an inside seating and bar area. Overall we had a great visit and can much recommend Kona Brewing if you're in the area.

Dave was absolutely amazing!!! We did the brewery tour and he was so funny, informative, and energetic! I cannot recommend the Kona brewery tour enough and am actually very surprised people don’t know about it. If you book a tour, and I recommend you do, if you can, ask for Dave. His passion and energy is so infectious. Truly a once and a lifetime experience. Dave, you’re amazing!!!

The beer was absolutely delicious. The food was okay overall, but the pizza dough was really good if you like a classic-style pizza crust. The house salad was a bit too salty for my taste, and the vinegar flavor was quite strong. The souvenir T-shirts were also very cute. If it feels too cold inside, I’d actually recommend sitting outside.

We always make it a point to stop at breweries on our travels, and Kona Brewing Co. absolutely did not disappoint! Our server, Emily, was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and really elevated the experience. The food was incredible across the board. We ordered the Brew-Ben and the Poke Bowl, along with the Captain, Margherita, and Wild Mushroom pizzas—everything was delicious and fresh. On the tap list, the Spruce IPA was a great, unique beer to try, and we also loved the Gold Cliff and the Mahea Haze. If you're a craft beer fan visiting the island, this is a mandatory stop!

Outdoor seating would have been cool but we didnt have reservations and only had a 15 min wait or so before being taken to the inside part. No complaints there. Pretty happening spot. Kinda cramped on the seating. Beer was cold and tasty. Exactly what we expect from KBC. Food was OK. Nothing special. Pizza was good enough. Just wasnt anything that defined the norm and for the price- i wouldnt get it again. Wofe got the nachos and she enjoyed them but again, nothing set the apart from any other nachos for me. Great service.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon with a group of 8 and seated right away. Very nice outdoor table area and cozy, tropical vibes inside (smelled amazing). Service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed our food and cocktails! Decent prices. Daily weekday happy hour from 3-5 PM with $2 off select appetizers, cocktails, and pints. -Pepperoni Rolls (delicious!) -Captain Pizza (good) -Frozen Mai Tai (strong, good) Edamame (nice flavor) Overall, would recommend for a medium sized group to enjoy drinks and food.

Stopped into Kona Brewing during our cruise and it did not disappoint! I’ve always been a fan of their beers, but having one fresh at the source was amazing. The pizza and pizza rolls were delicious, and the staff was super friendly—top notch service all around. The whole vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in the area, and I’ll be back for sure!

Large brewery and restaurant in a trendy new area in town. We had a Hanalei IPA brewed with POG that was refreshing but not too fruty and a Black Sand Porter. The porter was very good. We also tried the smash burger, which wasn't so much a smash burger as a pork/beef burger on an ube bun. The ube bun was interest - not the most appetizing color on the outside but super cool on the inside. The flavor of the patty, the aioli and the bun together was great. The kettle chips were good. The fish tacos with the mac salad needed a hot sauce but were tasty, if a bit small. Service here was good.
