Kenichi Pacific

Can't leave a complete review. The were out of power when we stopped for Happy hour but they were able to serve sushi only. Happy hour starts at 4:30. We were the first ones in the door. It took a while for them to get our order and them switched servers and the new server didn't know we ordered. They were out of a couple types of beer. One table next to us with one person received his order before us and was done eating before we received our order. Our party of 5 took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our order which was 7 sushi rolls. 🍣

Was I upset when you brought out adult entrées after I specifically asked you to bring the kids first because they were hungry? No I guess not. Was I upset when the hostess/owner said the reason they were so packed was because her daughter was having a birthday party and noticed that we had two kids and didn’t suggest us sitting in a specific area but clearly sat us in the most neglected area? No. What about when I begged for some food because I hadn’t even received my miso soup yet while the rest of my family had their full dinners and we’re almost finished? Nope, just starting to get irritated and wonder what’s going on. When I finally flagged down some random server, and told him we just wanted the check because the kids were finished and we were ready to go, and then we had to wait for 10 more minutes because my food was “almost ready“, I was getting to be irritated. Forget about the fact that no one asked if we were celebrating.(Birthday dinner for me ironically, the one who got shafted) But having the audacity to then make me wait longer while you packed it up to go and then still charged us full price for it is absolutely insane and not aloha. I don’t care who you are or where you’re from, but this is a horrible establishment to treat people who support them like this. last icing and cherry on top? I get home and there’s no soy sauce and I didn’t get my miso soup because apparently when I said “the kids only want the tofu” that means I don’t want what I paid for and ordered. What a joke, can’t believe that you’re still in business.

I visited Kenichi Pacific for the first time, and what an experience!! From the moment I walked in, the hospitality was on point. The staff made me feel genuinely welcomed, like I’d been coming here for years. The food? Amazing. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s real care and creativity behind the menu. Brussels Sprouts are a must btw. The whole experience—from the atmosphere to the service to the food—was memorable in the best way. I’m already planning my next visit because this place is definitely worth coming back to. If you’re on the Big Island and haven’t tried Kenichi Pacific yet, do yourself a favor and go. I’m hooked.

Delicious food. Sexy atmosphere. This place is a vibe… This is the kind of place you could eat at every day and still find something new. A wide-ranging menu with excellent execution. Perfect for visitors and truly special for the local community. Already looking forward to my next visit. Personal fave: uni nigiri and the fall off the bone pork ribs!! The banana foster was the cherry on top!! I wanted to order 2

Wow!! the food at Kenichi is AMAZING. Every piece of sushi I had was so fresh and perfectly done, you can really tell the chef is highly skilled. Best sushi on the big island for sure!! Even without photos, trust me, it was that good. My entrée was the scallop and prawn risotto and it was incredible — rich, flavorful, and honestly just yum yum yum. Everything we tried hit. I will 100% be back.

Excellent food. Surf and turf and poke were our selections. Steak was so tender you could me cut it with a fork. Poke was fresh and flavorful. The poke sauce had a bit of an orange flower to it.

Sushi rolls are great. Chicken Karaage is fine with super small portion. The chicken katsu w/ pasta is a big disappointment. The katsu is basically tasteless (I confirmed that it’s by design), with just mediocre spaghetti. Regarding the service, seems that they’re super understaffed. It took 40+ minutes to get the food and we could barely grab the server. If they cut the price by 50% I’d say it’s fine. But currently it’s quite overpriced. There’re quite some restaurants that offer better food and service and vibe with lower prices.

10/10 experience! The server Pete was awesome and he provided super fast service. I started the night with a delicious lilikoi martini. Then the appetizers came out, both phenomenal! We had the dynamite shrimp and the Kara'age chicken and loved both! Then chef Chris delivered our sushi to the table which was the Emperor’s roll and the Tsunami roll…. SO GOOD! For our entree we chose the sizzling ribeye which came with an out of this world Truffleyaki sauce wow wow wow! You will not be disappointed!
