Hungry Honu is absolutely amazing! The food was packed with flavor and every bite tasted fresh and delicious. You can really tell they care about quality and taste. The coffee was great too, the perfect addition to an already awesome meal. The atmosphere was super relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy yourself. Highly recommend checking them out if you want incredible food, great coffee, and a laid-back vibe!

Breakfast burrito was pretty good, but nothing too exciting. The arcade has one pinball machine, air hockey, basketball, and foosball. Good way to kill an hour with the kids if you want a break from the beach. Only open until 2pm though.

Just back from a perfect day in Kailua-Kona and had to share how much we loved Hungry Honu! This ocean-themed café is the ideal spot for healthy, delicious fuel after beach time or exploring the Big Island—think vibrant smoothies, acai bowls, and more, all served with genuine aloha in a relaxing, family-friendly space. We tried several highlights and everything hit the mark. The Avocado Toast was a top choice—creamy organic avocado on fresh focaccia with hard-boiled egg, everything seasoning, and a side of house-made pico. So fresh and satisfying! The Acai Bowl was thick and dreamy, loaded with banana, house-made granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds, and a sweet drizzle of local honey—pure tropical goodness that kept us energized for hours. We tried the Beef Melt: thinly sliced roast beef, savory bacon jam, tangy bleu cheese, melty provolone, tomatoes, and crisp red onion on toasty focaccia. It was gourmet, hearty, and still felt lighter than typical island fare. The ingredients taste incredibly fresh (lots of local touches), portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. The vibe is pure island chill—hand-painted ocean art, shaded outdoor seating, air-conditioned indoor space, and super friendly staff. Whether you're grabbing a quick smoothie or settling in for a full meal, it’s the perfect balance of healthy and ono kine grindz. If you’re in Kona and want something nutritious and eat in an activity-filled space, Hungry Honu is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip!

WOW what an amazing spot! My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast and we are so glad we did because our food was delicious. The decor in the restaurant is amazing. And if you don’t want to sit inside, there is a cute patio area too!

BEST PART SPOT ON ISLAND!!!! I was already a big fan of this spot for there delicious farm to table menu and best sour dough pizza ever ; then after a bike ride with the Keiki we stumbled in to get some lunch and smoothies when we noticed they have a whole VR , Giant Block , and interactive wall ball games . We immediately booked our son’s 8th birthday party . It was not only the absolutely perfect location , set up , food and beverage inclusive package but they decorated and handled everything from start to finish . We will go back for many many birthday party’s to come and will enjoy as a family day many times in between . Thank you for making our boys eighth birthday unforgettable !!!

Great find! Expansive menu, great atmosphere, reasonable prices. My smoothie was so good, I bought a 2nd one to walk around with when we were finished lunch. The pizza was really good also. In addition to the arcade games, they also have a ton of board games and card games. Free wifi and large, clean bathrooms. Highly recommend.

The breakfast pizza is absolutely fantastic! And to top it off, they made me one of the best cappuccinos I have had on the island. Delicious coffee and super-friendly staff. Definitely one of my favorite places.

This is a great hang out place! Drinks were very good, pizzas too and I had a lovely dessert croissant with fruit and whipped cream. They have comfortable spaces to sit, work and kids can color or play games like connect 4 or arcade! Food was good, service is kind and it’s such a lovely peaceful feeling to be there! Must visit if you are in Kona with kids!

Cute spot! Great food! I’ve never had a melt before. When I’m home I don’t explore different food options too much so this was surprisingly good. They forgot a dish we ordered but it was squared away pretty fast. Small spot, order first sit after. Felt heavy and we got somewhat full off this small breakfast. We definitely enjoyed everything
