Fireart Cuisine
About
A Smoky Haven by the Kona Coast
Stepping into Fireart Cuisine, you are immediately greeted by the crackle of hardwood and the intoxicating scent of kiawe smoke curling through the open-air dining room. This Kailua-Kona kitchen prioritizes the primal elements of cooking, centering their menu around a high-heat wood-fired oven that transforms simple Big Island ingredients into something extraordinary. The interior aesthetic leans into the raw, industrial side of culinary art, creating a stark but inviting contrast to the breezy tropical humidity outside.
Signature Wood-Fired Craft
The culinary philosophy here is simple: if it doesn't spend time near the flame, it isn't ready for the plate. Locals flock here for the signature blistered flatbreads and the cedar-planked catch of the day, which arrives with a charred, smoky skin that yields to tender, flaky white fish. Pair your meal with one of their house-made ferments, which add a sharp, acidic brightness that cuts through the richness of the fire-grilled proteins.
The Local Edge
While the food is undeniable, be prepared for the realities of popular dining in the heart of Hawaii's Kona district. Seating can feel intimate, and the acoustic nature of the space means that during peak dinner hours, the room hums with a high-energy, boisterous volume. It is the perfect spot for groups of friends looking for a lively atmosphere rather than a hushed, romantic corner. Parking in the surrounding blocks can get tight as the sun sets, so consider arriving a bit early to secure a spot before the evening rush truly hits. Whether you are a resident or just wrapping up a day at the beach, Fireart Cuisine offers a gritty, authentic taste of island grilling culture that favors bold flavors over delicate plating.

I've been eating here consistently for a few months now. The waitress remembered my drink and appetizer order after my first visit. The better majority of the dishes I've tried have been excellent. The prices are reasonable and the portions are filling.

Delicious! The Eggplant dish is my new favorite! I Loved the braised string beans and tofu dish. The jasmine green tea was perfect. The staff were very welcoming and provided excellent service. I’ll be back to try other dishes.

Delicious food, OUTSTANDING service. If you don't eat here, I feel sorry for you. We highly recommend the Singapore noodles and the black pepper beef, but I haven't tried everything on the menu yet... YET. I will be back!

This place is a total hidden gem. It’s pretty low-key, but the people working here are super kind and really attentive. We tried the Aloha drink, Tsingtao beer, veggie noodles, Kung Pao tofu, and the spicy string beans—and wow. The tofu and beans were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. Bonus: there are lots of great vegetarian options too. Definitely coming back!

I ordered Kon Pao three. I sat down and within 5 minutes had piping hot dinner around 3pm. Fast friendly service, good food, and descent atmosphere. I have eaten at much fancier restaurants.

Very good Chinese restaurant. The combination lo mein was excellent. Located in an unassuming shopping center. Staff was friendly and service was unbelievably fast. Will definitely eat here again.

Authentic, delicious Chinese food! Super reasonable price. The cumin beef and the tasty chicken (appetizer) were my favorites. The tasty chicken sauce had Szechuan flavor that was really yummy - I couldn’t help but put it on everything else! Super attentive service. I recommend getting a couple of different dishes to try with a friend!

Lovely surprise to find myself here tonight for the first time. The atmosphere, relaxing music and friendly staff were all very enjoyable. The jasmine tea was just wonderful with sweet little flowers. The potstickers were worth it.. otherwise the food is mediocre, but I didn’t mind too much since I was enjoying myself. 😌🪷
