Fuel Your Morning in the Heart of Kailua-Kona
Stepping into Ferrari Coffee Co. feels less like a corporate franchise stop and more like visiting a local secret tucked away in the vibrant streets of Kailua-Kona. The air here is heavy with the rich, unmistakable aroma of freshly roasted beans, cutting through the salty Pacific breeze that drifts in from the nearby coast.
The Kona Craft
This isn't just another caffeine pit stop. The shop prides itself on sourcing 100% Kona coffee, processed with a level of precision that highlights the unique volcanic soil profile of the Big Island. You will hear the rhythmic grinding of high-end equipment—a constant, mechanical hum that serves as the soundtrack to your morning fuel-up. Their pour-overs are the main event, stripping away the noise of blends to showcase the clean, bright acidity that defines high-elevation Hawaiian agriculture.
What to Expect
The aesthetic is minimalist and industrial, a refreshing change from the typical tiki-themed motifs found throughout the island. It is the perfect spot for remote workers or travelers planning their snorkel trips who need a quiet, focused environment to wake up their senses. Be warned: seating is limited and designed for quick turnover, so if you are looking to sprawl out for hours, you might find the stools a bit unforgiving on the lower back.
Whether you grab a straight espresso or one of their nuanced lattes, the consistency here is unmatched in the Kailua-Kona area. It is a straightforward, no-nonsense coffee experience where the quality of the bean speaks louder than any added syrups or whipped cream. Drop by early before the mid-morning heat settles over the bay.

David is great! They have the best Kona Coffee on the island. Taste is never bitter. Coffee is always fresh roasted. When we're here in Kona we get our supply of coffee.

Superb coffee and David is extremely friendly and knowledgeable! We’ve stopped by his place on our last three trips to the island and have ordered from the Mainland. The quality of the coffee is definitely worth the price!

I was excited about buying the coffee, having it fresh roasted and sent to me. In the end this was the most expensive coffee I’ve bought, even with the offer of a fifth free bag with purchase of 4 bags. What they served me in the stand seemed decent, and I bought so much to give as gifts. This is some of the worst tasting coffee I’ve ever brewed. It’s not even comparable to something like store bought Dunkin keurig coffee. My friends can’t drink it, and I just tossed the bags I haven’t opened because both the dark and medium roasts were just awful. We’ve tried the standard drip, pour over, Keurig, I’ve ground it finer to try in my Jura and my Bialetti so I can say I’ve given this more than a fair chance and honest look. I hate giving bad reviews but this coffee, the five bags we got, is terrible.

The owner took as much time (and coffee) to make sure we had a memorable experience even if we didn’t buy anything (we did, of course). He was super nice and informative; the sample coffee bold and tasty. A definite revisit when we return. It’s not only the product quality, but the overall experience, including the personal touch that matters!

Stopped to get tacos and decided to get coffee on a whim. Matt was very kind and shared that his wife Lisa made their Madagascar vanilla bean sauce*(?) homemade and local coffee beans info. Made me a delicious iced vanilla latte (no sweetener needed), looked good enough where the rest of my group got one too and enjoyed it.

I really liked the macadamia blended coffee. One of the first markets we visited during our trip. Can't wait to visit again.

I was approaching this booth to look at their coffee selection (still much more than 6 feet away, while walking through an open air outdoor market) and I was not wearing a mask. The woman working there loudly yelled at me: “Mam, you need to be wearing a mask!” I had a mask in my pocket and was about to put it on, I decided I didn’t want to patronize a business with such a rude clerk- so I walked away. You seriously need help with your customer service skills.

Great coffee and the person who works there is very sweet and helpful. While I've been here multiple times I've never been inclined to write a review until I saw Kathryn Valero's 1 star review because she didn't like that she was asked to wear a mask in a market that requires masks on the entire grounds and there's plenty of posted signs. Please stop being an entitled karen Kathryn.
