Basik Acai
About
Fueling Kona Adventures
When the tropical humidity hits, there is no better way to reset than with a cold, thick acai bowl. Perched in the heart of Kailua-Kona, Basik Acai has become a ritual for locals coming off the water and tourists looking for a clean, nutrient-dense bite. The interior is minimal, keeping the focus entirely on the custom-blended frozen acai bases that range from classic nutty profiles to more adventurous, fruit-forward combinations.
The Anatomy of the Bowl
The secret here is the texture. Unlike the watery, smoothie-like consistency found in most mainland chains, these bowls are dense enough to stand a spoon upright. Signature favorites like the 'Tiger' combine local honey with fresh bananas and granola, offering that essential crunch against the smooth, tart berry base. You can smell the sweetness of the shaved coconut the moment you step up to the counter, often competing with the faint scent of sea salt drifting up from the nearby shoreline.
A Local Hangout Vibe
Expect a relaxed, barefoot-friendly environment where service is efficient but unhurried. It is the kind of place where you might find yourself waiting a few extra minutes during the morning rush, but the open-air design makes it easy to soak in the Kailua-Kona sun while you wait. Be prepared for limited seating during peak hours—most people grab their bowls to-go and head straight to the beach to find a piece of sand.
Whether you are a triathlete training for the big race or just passing through the Big Island, this spot delivers a consistently fresh alternative to the heavy breakfast options nearby. It is simple, refreshing, and entirely focused on high-quality ingredients sourced with the island lifestyle in mind.

Fresh and beautiful bowls! Unassuming little spot above a snorkel shop in the parking lot. Was busy both times we came while on Big Island, and easy to see why. Delicious food with a great view!

Too delicious almost to describe! Best açaí bowl in Kona, so fresh and put together perfectly. I could eat one after another if my belly could fit it all in🤤🤤🤤

Friendly and fast service. The açaí bowls and drinks were tasty. If you get lucky, you may see friendly lizards who come to feed on the ants that are enjoying the sweets!

Thought Big Island is known for acai bowls so we wanted to try on last day. We lucked out with free street parking. This place is on a paid parking lot. There’s an ocean view 5 counter seats upstairs and picnic tables on the bottom floor. Their acai was average at best and short of amazing. Can’t beat Oahu or California. But if you never had acai before then you would never know.

Hidden Sweet Treat An easy grab in Kona, I’ve tried different Açaí bowls and loved them all. I love walking to the King Kam and sitting by the ocean to eat

If you are ever visiting Kona you’ll have to put Acai Hawai’i Company on your to do list. Especially after a good workout at Planet Fitness. I highly recommend The Islander. Love the drizzled honey on top!

Do not pass this place up. Head upstairs and prepare to have yohr world flipped around. Very small seating area, but just get your bowl and head to the ocean to eat while listening to the waves. I reccomend the islander. Top notch.

Our bowls were great. Went twice and it was awesome both times. Also a good value when compared to other açaí place around. Make sure to get your parking validated. Also note that this above the snorkel shop up the stairs in the back.
