A-bay's On Ali'i

I have wanted to eat here for a long time!! I finally got around to it! This place stays open late, which is awesome!!! 🤙🤙 The food was awesome! The burger and fries where fresh and cooked perfectly! The fries where awesome!! Loved them! Now the staff on the other hand……..outdid themselves!!! From the very start, the hosts where so welcoming and did what they could to accommodate me! They got me in fast! The waitress , Cindy I believe, was so friendly and just all around great waitress!!!! The only thing I didn’t like about her was, she trying to tempt me with their awesome desserts!! It was hard, but I resisted!!!! Next time I’m sure I will not resist! I will go back here for sure! There is so much more awesome food I want to try!!! Great place!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙❤️❤️❤️❤️🤙🤙🤙🤙

Live music was great. Wonderful location with ocean views in open air setting. Food was okay. Service, despite being quite empty, a bit hard to come by. You saw them when you ordered and when was food dropped off. Had to wait a while for a check to come. There were only few people at bar. Beer menu was only visible on a t.v. screen across the bar or on wall behind us...small font for such a large space. Burger wasn't bad. Fries were meh at best. Great for grabbing a drink and hanging with friends, not so much for dinner.

We didn’t get a chance to try the food since there was a problem with the kitchen, but I had a great mixed green salad and some deserts. The water was refreshing, their local beer was good and they pour large shots. The staff were all really friendly. The music was done by a local who is a frequent visitor and his buddies. They invited us to sit closer as well as the table behind us. Everyone share some laughs and music. We did a buddy system each time all us girls used the restroom. We went in pairs since it was midnight. I would def go back and try the food. Great atmosphere, we were lucky to catch the tunes on the last night in Hawaii. This place is also open day time. It was wheelchair accessible and so is the restroom they have for this location. We ended up here after watching a Luau at the Royal Kona which was down the street. We found easy parking behind the outback stake-house near Lavern’s tavern which was free in the evening. We heard the live music and decided to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. No regrets. It was the best night.

We were here on Super Bowl Sunday, and I can't think of a better setting for watching the Super Bowl: great crowd, good food, huge TV, very friendly service...and the Pacific Ocean right outside. The menu was limited because of the Super Bowl. We ordered a loco moco with gravy on the side and pulled pork nachos. I wanted hard cider, and the bartender recommended Lei'd Back Lilikoi passion fruit hard cider. Wow...SOOO good! We have a lot of great memories of our visit here, even if the Eagles lost.

Our party of three sat outside of the bar at a table separated from the restaurant/bar and it was a perfect semi private table and it was easy to converse with each other for lunch. We ordered the Island Style Poke, Fish Tacos & Shrimp Lumpia along with one of the best Old Fashions I’ve ever had. This is a perfect place for lunch but if you’re thinking of coming back for a late night dinner be prepared for terribly loud bad karaoke. We actually left to go to a different restaurant because we weren’t going spend over $100 to have to be screamed at by people thinking they sing great. lol

Back at A-bays for dinner tonight as we were visiting a local gallery next door. Great service and live music made this a great stop. My fish sandwich was great and the fish tacos were very tasty. My son loved the Mac and cheese and virgin lava flow. Definitely will be back again

No tip was left here when we were done. We thought this was going to be amazing. We were seated at a corner table and got drinks started and ordered delicious food. I tried the smoked meat with onions and it was delicious! (Reason for the three star review) but there was so much fat that I had to pick around and had nearly half fat on my plate. Rice and Mac salad was incredible. The dessert was delicious and plenty big for 2-4 people to share depending how big the serving size. Service started to go downhill and our drinks were forgotten about until altogether, we were forgotten. We were about to just leave some money on the table and leave and this is what got our servers attention. Then our check was brought to us-but no tip was left due to terrible service.

Open late night! For food and drinks! This restaurant was a savior when we got back to our hotel late. The service was a tad slow. The food was however decent. Nothing rave worthy though. We had a couple beers, a portion of the fish and chips and shrimp tacos. The fish n chips were alright. The shrimp in the tacos were delicious but the tortilla was not, the edges were inedible.

Enjoyed a romantic sunset dinner in Kona at A-Bay’s Restaurant. The view, service, and food were fabulous. The chef is Filipino and they offered several Filipino dishes. The Manila clams appetizer was delicious and fresh tasting. There was live entertainment from 6 pm-9 pm. Glad that I made reservations since they were super busy and short staffed.

Solid food, and the service was great. Got the fish tacos (really good), Lechon (really good), burger (decently good), and banana lumpia (really really good). It was a bit pricey, but it's a touristy area, so I can't complain too much. The hostess sat my wife and I at a lovely table with a great view of the ocean. It was a pretty fantastic way to enjoy dinner.
