Maui Kombucha
About
Fermented Refreshment in the Heart of Haiku
Tucked away in the lush landscape of Haiku, Maui Kombucha stands as a local sanctuary for those seeking raw, probiotic-rich elixirs. The space is distinctly unpretentious, functioning as a vibrant community hub where the hum of industrial-sized fermenting crocks provides the soundtrack to your afternoon. You will notice the sharp, clean aroma of vinegar and fresh herbs the moment you walk through the door, a sensory reminder of the active cultures brewing in the back.
The Art of the Pour
This isn't your average soda stop. The menu focuses on house-made kombucha on tap, featuring complex flavor profiles that shift based on seasonal availability. Beyond the drinks, the kitchen turns out hearty, plant-based meals that emphasize organic produce sourced from Upcountry farms. If you happen to stop by during a peak hour, be prepared for a bit of a scramble to find a seat—the wooden tables fill quickly with local surfers and travelers looking for a gut-healthy lunch. The food is dense, nourishing, and devoid of processed fillers, making it a go-to for anyone on a plant-based diet navigating the road to Hana.
Why Make the Trip?
Whether you are a long-time fan of fermented foods or just looking for a crisp, bubbly alternative to coffee, this spot delivers a genuine taste of Maui’s health-conscious culture. The staff is knowledgeable about the health benefits of each brew and won't hesitate to give you a flight if you're indecisive. It’s a low-key, rustic experience that feels less like a storefront and more like a workshop for modern wellness, perfectly suited for the relaxed pace of North Shore life.

Every time I fly from the Bay Area to visit family and friends in Maui, I try to start the day with a BoochBuzz from Maui Booch. We have flights and accommodations reserved for a mid-June visit, and our rental house is just a short walk up Kokomo. Maui Booch, we're coming back and bring more family to become vacation regulars.

Wanted to like this place since it’s near my house. Unfortunately, they have political misinformation and propaganda all over the restaurant so I definitely will not be spending my money to support them pushing false information that’s dangerous to our community. Additionally, the employees are rude and do not speak to you when you walk in.

What can I say about this place: they are just the nicest folks ever. The service was solid. And the booch was creative. (If you cant decide, have a flight!) We drove quite a ways to stop and see them. Next time I hope we have time to stay a bit and enjoy the food. There seems be a wide variety of things to nibble, drink, and eat. The nuts were great too!

We enjoyed the kombucha as well as a soup and savory waffle. I will go back every time I visit. Recommend for a legit raw meal with fresh kombucha.

The kombucha is delicious! I got the guava lime, she got the mango jasmine. We shared an Immortality Bowl. When we came most of their food menu was not available, but the bowl was delicious so that's ok. They also will fill any container you have with kombucha, so come prepared so you can get a couple of gallons. I'm very glad we went out of our way to explore this little place.

Best in Maui in term of food, desert and Kambucha! Definitely try it out. Google maps direction for this place is a bit confusing. Entrance is from the main highway.

Not bad at all for the vegan variety they have! The parking is just around the corner from the place and this place was not hard to find. The place is kinda hippy and almost feels like a hippy pub but people were friendly when we went in! I did want to get a kombucha but it was a little too strong for me. They do give out samples before you buy a cup! The food was good and very filling. The only downside of the oat bagel was it got very dry abd crumbly. It could have used something to keep it little more moist. Overall the food was not bad :)
