Baked On Maui
About
A Slice of Haiku Tradition
When the coastal winds sweep through the North Shore, locals know the scent of wood-fired dough is drifting from Baked On Maui. Tucked away in the heart of Haiku, this spot sheds the tourist veneer of the resort towns in favor of a rustic, open-air pavilion. It is the kind of place where you might share a communal table with surfers coming off a session at Hookipa or residents grabbing a quick lunch between chores.
The Wood-Fired Difference
The core of the menu revolves around their high-heat stone oven. You will hear the crackle of kiawe wood before you even see the counter. Their signature pizzas favor thin, charred crusts that blister perfectly, topped with ingredients that feel less like a menu list and more like a garden haul. Whether you opt for a classic margherita or something more adventurous with local produce, the char is consistent, and the cheese pull is real.
What to Expect
Be prepared for a casual experience—the gravel lot can get a bit crowded during the lunch rush, so timing your visit requires a bit of local intuition. It is loud, vibrant, and refreshingly unpretentious. The service is friendly in that laid-back island way, which means you should grab a seat, soak in the tropical humidity, and enjoy the sound of the pizza peel sliding across the stone. It is not just a meal; it is a reliable anchor for the Haiku community that values quality over fuss.

Overpriced! All the baked goods are double what they should be sold for, $7 for a sticky bun? Also all of the baked goods taste the same, it might have a cool flavor but it tastes the same as the one next to it. I got two sweets and a large coffee and without tip its $19! Come here if you wanna try a tourist trap.

My wife and I had breakfast here before driving to Hana at the recommendation of one of our guides on a snorkel tour. Everything was amazing, both of our breakfasts and the cinnamon roll we shared. Was nice and quiet, friendly, and great service. Will definitely visit if back on Maui!

Breakfast options for all! Baked offers everything from burgers & skillets to baked oatmeal. They have plenty of pastry options, French toast and other sweet breakfast treats. I had some bullet proof coffee and the most scrumptious gluten-free scone. It was so flavorful that even a gluten-eater would LOVE it! Our group of 7 found a great outdoor table to gather. Our food came fairly quickly and the coffee was fire! Bike here so you can justify eating more! And take some treats to go!

A gorgeous place to sit and enjoy breakfast in the Hawaiian forest. I had a delicious lavender and fruit smoothie along with two Fat Sammy’s. A perfect meal to get through a day in the surf! The people were friendly with a fun loving attitude. We sat on the patio and listened to the birdcalls while a warm rain breezed through. What a start to the morning, thanks to the crew at Baked on Maui. I wish I had gotten their names.

Hidden Gem 💎 A friend had recommended Baked on Maui for their delicious cinnamon rolls 🤤 Cute little local spot nestled upcountry. Friendly and welcoming staff with excellent service. I enjoyed the house made masala chai with a fresh warmed traditional cinnamon roll. They also have an entire breakfast menu – I look forward to returning and trying as it looked amazing. *alternative milk options for beverages! Four indoor tables for dining as well as a cute outdoor area with covered picnic tables. Restrooms nearby (ask cashier for key and directions). Free parking. Highly recommend!

Fantastic bakery!!! Wonderful hidden gem and glad we stopped by. We both got sandwiches and thought they were amazing. And the cinnamon roll was fabulous as well. I highly recommend The Dole sandwich - I would say that it is among the best sandwiches I've had in my life. My husband got the Melted Ham & Cheese and he really enjoyed it as well.

Best coffee in Maui if you like the strong, robust and clean taste. Food is tasty and mostly locally sourced. Desserts are a highlight as well. Pleasantly surprised with a Strong WiFi - I got a lot of work done while breathing the fresh mountain air
