The Lookout Food & Drink
About
A Above the Ewa Beach Fairways
Perched overlooking the lush greens of the Ewa Beach Golf Club, The Lookout Food & Drink offers a perspective rarely found in this corner of Oahu. The space embraces an open-air architecture that invites the trade winds inside, blurring the line between the golf course’s manicured landscape and your dining table. Expect the sound of clinking glasses to mingle with the occasional distant 'thwack' of a golf ball as the afternoon sun casts long, dramatic shadows across the fairway.
Casual Plates with a Local Touch
The kitchen leans into island-style comfort food, making it an ideal stop for those finishing a round or anyone looking for a quiet lunch away from the heavy tourist traffic. The menu features hearty staples like the classic loco moco and crispy calamari, prepared with a focus on fresh, accessible ingredients. The atmosphere is refreshingly unpretentious—you are just as likely to see locals in golf attire as you are families enjoying a relaxed weekend bite.
What to Expect
Service here moves at a leisurely, island pace, which is perfect for savoring a cold local brew while watching the clouds drift over the western coast. While the parking lot can get a bit crowded during tournament days, the trade-off is a spacious, breezy environment that remains one of Ewa Beach’s best-kept secrets for a midday escape. Whether you are looking to refuel after a day on the links or simply want a breezy spot to grab a drink, The Lookout delivers a grounded, authentic experience that highlights the laid-back spirit of the Leeward side.

Such a fun place to hangout right in the neighborhood. They really stepped up their menu selection from when they first opened. Food is great and catered to local style favorites with their own flare on it. A lot of selection of beers and there their cocktails are all amazing. Restaurant has a great view overlooking the surfers in the wave pool and also a great view of the lagoon. My favorite is the evening live music. The performers provide great background music that match the vibe well.

We spent our last night on Oahu having dinner here. We had the prime rib special. It was honestly the best prime rib we have ever had, it was unbelievably delicious and cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were made fresh, no boxed mix. The vegies (squash and carrots) were perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back on our next trip over from the mainland. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Perfect end to our vacation.

Went there on Monday about 545p. Located in wai kai. Lots of free parking. It wasn't busy, so you could make same day reservations or probably walk-in. Server was really friendly and helpful. I stated with a pina colada... good mix. Appetizer we're the kalbi (was ok) and chicken wings (were crispy). I had the cajun chicken Alfredo pasta, that was generous and tasty. My husband got the Mochiko chicken, he said it was generous and tasty too. I would eat here again

This is my second time coming here and the first time I had a lot of negatives to say. This time I feel I have to give a more raving review. The place is running more efficiently and seems to be managed more effectively. The service was great, the food came out quickly and was great, and of course, the views and ambiance are always great. This was on a Saturday night too, so I am definitely impressed with how busy it was getting, but everyone seemed well taken care of and constantly checked in on. Kudos to you LookOut staff and management; my expectations were exceeded 🫡✊🏽🤙🏽

Tried out the Wai Kai luau experience for an evening show. Started the night with drinks and appetizers. The drinks left much to be desired, not even sure if there was any alcohol in them. The appetizers including the crispy Hawaiian chicken was delicious. Took a long time to come out, but the taste was delicious. The main course was the luau 3 course meal. It includes salad, steak, and a dessert. The salad and steak with sides came out from the kitchen all at once. Leaving no time to enjoy the salad before the steak got cold. The dessert arrived much later into the night long after the main meal was finished. It appeared like the cake and ice cream sat in a warmer waiting for it to be brought out. The ice cream was super melted and not even in the shape of ice cream. The actual luau show was nice, but not worth the full price cost. Save money and go somewhere where the food and drinks are better.

Surf’s up from the window seats at this cool restaurant. Watch surfers ride waves all night as you enjoy cold drinks, ono local food and live music in a casual atmosphere. Friendly service and lots of space to hang out around the bar or at tables. Plus lots of free parking. We’ll be back. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Started off awesome with no wait for a party of six on a Sunday around 6:30. The waitress immediately got us water and asked if she could grab us anything else to drink. The group ordered drinks and I ordered the Kalua Pig Nachos which I could of made better at home. For $24 I expected house made chips or at least not ones that you get from a baseball game. The old fashion came out filled with ice cubes and was practically water by the time it was drank. I ordered the LineUp Fish Tacos which was the best meal on the table, absolutely delicious. I was a couple of bites into my meal when my friend accidentally spilt his water soaking my entire plate. I asked the waitress if it would be possible to get a new dish made and she immediately said yes, grabbed the 2.5 remaining tacos on my plate and said don't worry about it. The manager even came out and made sure everything was okay. I was very impressed with the situation until the waitress came back and said she'll be charging me for the tacos. If I would of know she was going to charge me I would of just kept my soggy tacos, but she waited till after she threw them away to tell me. I was kind of annoyed considering the mediocre food and drinks thus far. In the end she ended up comping the extra tacos.

Ok food, bad service. Went to dinner on a Thurs night after checking out the food stalls in the parking lot. We were seated and ordered drinks. 20 min later our drinks were still not served. After asking the waiter, he said he’d check on them. A minute later he returned and asked what our drink order was again. He totally forgot to put in our drink order. We ordered the fish tacos and the Braised beef Loco moco. Our food didn’t come out for half an hour. The fish tacos were decent but were super sloppy due to the salsa slathered on them. The corn tortillas were soggy and the plate was covered in liquid. The braised beef loco moco was just ok. Nothing special. I feel the service needs to vastly improve as well as the food quality or this place might not make it as a business. Even with the nice views of the wave pools, the restaurant portion of the business will cause cause a drag on the overall experience. The restaurant wasn’t even busy but yet the service was super slow. So a better trained wait staff and/or more wait staff need to be on hand. One waiter was working a big section with only 3 or 4 tables but still the service was lacking. I’ll say as of now that I won’t be back. It’s a cool concept as a business but needs some refinement or it will not make it. I live 5 min away and I’d rather drive elsewhere for drinks and food.

Beautiful view and location Currently the wave is closed for repairs. It has been a month hopefully will open soon. The food at the Lookout was delicious. The staff was great!!! The music was nice. But the acoustic made it so loud you can't hear anyone in your party and the music was way to loud. Sounded distorted. Hope this improves. It said music nightly 6-8p ours started at 8pm Friday night.

We came here for my daughter's graduation party and reserved seats for 15 people at 1pm. It was everyone's first time visiting this place except for me. When we arrived, there weren't many people around. There were only a few using the water obstacle and the surf pool was not operational when we arrived. The price was reasonable and they had a great selection of options. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and the desserts were delicious. The only feedback I received from my family was that some of the food was a bit salty. On the positive side, the restrooms were super clean. Everyone was happy and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view. I had previously visited this place at night with my colleagues, where we had seats with a great view. We were able to watch people flowboarding while enjoying live music. I will definitely come back again, and next time we might try their picnicbana or the water obstacle.
