Safeway Deli (91-1119 Keaunui Drive)

I love shopping here. I use the app which let's you clip special deals. Always go to the cashier line as I like to have a human scan my items. The workers are all friendly and helpful.

Safeway is the priciest grocery option. The wr hour availability is what most attracts me. You can usually get the same thing for less elsewhere. Usually, but not always. I am addicted to an overpriced yogurt drink called Saborico, and I can only find it at Safeway. Safeway is well stocked and clean. I don't see the flower section ever really busy, but it is great for ambience. Five dollar Fridays are good. We need more price cuts, on more items, more often! Inflation hurts. I wish Safeway did more to help with the price of the food it sells. Finally, no matter what Safeway you enter, at any time of the day or night, you will always be in line for a register. The lines are pretty brisk. This is more of an observation than a complaint.

Store is always clean and well stocked. Staff is very friendly and prices are decent. Their bakery items are always so fresh. This safeway is always my go to for birthday cakes and pastries.

I’ve been shopping more and more frequently at Safeway. What I’m finding is that they have a lot more of a variety of items than at most other grocery stores. For example, when it comes to spices, they have many spices that you cannot find anywhere else. Quality brand spices. As you enter the door on the right side, they have a fairly large florist with selections of bouquets as well as flower arrangements, different kinds of party balloons, etc. Smells lovely there. Continuing on the right is a vast produce section. Again, all kinds of items you can’t find at other grocers. When I wanted to make fruitcake during the holidays, they were the only ones who were selling the candied fruits. They also have a lot of baked goods - different breads, cakes, cookies, donuts, etc. They have a fairly large supply of liquor so much so that you will most likely find what you’re looking for. They also have a pretty big delicatessen, serving both hot and cold foods for grab and go, as well as you pick what you want and they’ll put it into a container by weight. They have a hot food bar as well. They also have lots of local items that you can only get here in Hawaii. A lot of their items are on the spendy side, but when they have sales, they are really good. There is parking outside. They do have a bunch of self checkout stations There is also a Bank of Hawaii. Lots and lots more! And it is Neat, and tidy. I highly recommend this Safeway location.

Cashier FLORENCE has so much attitude. Went to safeway at 7 am and experienced the worst customer service from Florence. She was sassy, rude, condescending and refused to actually do her job. She refused to allow me to input my phone number to get points for my purchase. And gave me attitude when I asked to reenter it so I an get points for my items. Florence refused to do so and gave me attitude the whole time. Will be calling district and corporate offices.

I just wanted to rate EWA BEACH SAFEWAY BAKERY. I will be writing a letter to the corporate office as well. Tonight my family and I went to order a cake for my Aunty. The woman who assisted us was very judgmental in the way she spoke to us. Her name is LORI. We were very kind in asking questions to get everything right for our cake order but the way she spoke to us was as if we didn’t have any money for our purchase. She kept saying “it would cost more” and insinuating as if we came there broke. Then when we were ready to finish up she said because it’s over $50 that we had to pay now. I told her okay that’s fine and I’ll pay now, she was taken by surprise which made me annoyed. Safeway you need to get your employees in line especially when it comes to “judging a book by its cover”. Just because we are local people doesn’t mean we don’t have money to shop at your store!!!!. This will be our last time ordering from this bakery and we will be going to Kapolei from now on.

I like Safeway. Especially the Friday specials.

This review is only for the bakery. We ordered a cake for my daughter’s 16th birthday and it was supposed to have a leopard edible design on the middle section. It looks like they literally just threw this together. The bands are not straight, the bands overlap one another in the worst way, and around the back of the cake the design cut was clearly frayed and coming loose. I will never order a cake from there again 😭

This is the best grocery store if you need fresh produce, poke, and bakery items. They also have the best customer service. If you are buying canned or mass produced items, you're better off going to Walmart.

You can also buy flowers, cakes, vegetables and all your home needs. Its a small store with product arrangement is good. A little bit narrow the ailse.
