About
A Taste of Thailand in Ewa Beach
Finding genuine Thai cuisine on the Leeward side of Oahu just got easier at the Laulani Shopping Center. Bangkok Chef serves as a reliable go-to for residents craving bold, aromatic spices without the drive into Honolulu. The space is straightforward and functional, favoring a quick-service efficiency that makes it a perfect stop for a busy weeknight dinner or a casual lunch break after running errands in the neighborhood.
Signature Spice and Savory Favorites
The menu remains loyal to the classics that have defined the Bangkok Chef brand across the island. The green curry is particularly notable, boasting a creamy coconut base that carries a distinct, lingering heat. If you enjoy a bit of crunch with your meal, the crispy garlic chicken is a consistent crowd-pleaser, balancing a punchy garlic profile with a texture that holds up even if you are grabbing your order to go.
Practical Dining Tips
The layout is compact, and the acoustics can get quite lively when the restaurant hits its peak hours during the dinner rush. Because it is positioned within a high-traffic shopping hub, parking is plentiful, though the lot can feel like a maze on weekend afternoons. It is an ideal spot for those who value authentic, straightforward cooking over formal table service. Expect a no-frills experience where the focus stays entirely on the depth of the red, green, and panang curries rather than white-tablecloth atmosphere.

A pretty tucked away spot for when you're craving Thai or Pho. I personally love their Mango Salad. Similar to Som Tum (Papaya Salad) but they use green mango that's right at the cusp of ripening so you get firm texture but a slightly sweeter taste. Highly recommend that. Their Pink Milk is made with the traditional Thai Sala syrup and they do serve it with Boba, but I suggest you get it without it to get the "traditional" version.

We are usually in Hawai’i several months at a time working. We stay in Kapolei and today we decided to try something new! We were amazed at how delicious the food was in a small restaurant in a shopping area! It was some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had and we’ve had original cooked by Thai friends. The food and service were beyond our expectations and we will absolutely go back as well as tell our friends who visit here! The restaurant is clean and welcoming and the staff was beyond helpful, friendly, and quick! We highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back!!

Arrived here for lunch around 11:30 AM and was able to get a table right away as most of the place was empty. This place can accommodate anyone from two people up to 10 or more. I noticed as I was there there was a lot of takeout orders, which is probably why the place wasn’t filled. We both ordered entrées. One of them was green veggie curry with a side of jasmine rice. The other one was vermicelli tofu, both were delicious. If I were to critique anything, the veggie curry was very watery, and the vermicelli tofu had way too much lettuce. I would recommend this place.
