The Pizza Press
About
Craft Your Own Slice in the Heart of Pearl City
Stepping into The Pizza Press is like walking onto a vintage newspaper floor. The industrial aesthetic, complete with newsprint-themed decor and bright, open workstations, creates a high-energy environment perfect for families or a casual post-work bite. It is a loud, bustling spot, so expect the hum of local conversation to compete with the indie rock playing over the speakers.
The draw here is the assembly-line customization. You act as the editor-in-chief of your own pie, choosing from an array of fresh toppings that range from classic pepperoni to more adventurous herb-infused oils and artisanal cheeses. Watching your creation move through their signature high-heat oven provides a satisfying sizzle that signals your meal is moments away. Their thin, crispy crust is the hallmark of the kitchen, providing a firm base for even the most loaded combinations.
If you prefer a curated path, their 'Publishing' menu features crowd-pleasers named after classic newspaper archetypes. The Times, topped with classic red sauce and mozzarella, is a reliable staple, while bolder palates often lean toward their specialty combinations featuring unique balsamic glazes. Don't be surprised if the small parking lot gets a bit crowded during the dinner rush in this busy Oahu shopping corridor—plan for a brief lap around the block if you visit during peak evening hours.
Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for a relaxed dinner, the staff manages the queue efficiently, keeping the rhythm of the room steady. It is a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to comfort food that prioritizes speed without sacrificing the crunch of a well-fired crust.

Pizza is good, kind of reminds me of Pieology-fast food pizza. Pizzas are about $15 each, thin crust and feeds maybe one person or two if they eat small amounts. I’m a big pizza fan, it’s not my favorite but we’ll be back.

If you’re from the mainland, the easiest way to describe this place is MOD Pizza… but on crack (in the absolute best way). Hands down the best pizza on Oʻahu. No exaggeration. We made it a point to come here at least twice a month because the food is consistently incredible and the service is unmatched. Every visit felt like a treat, not just a meal. But the real reason this place became our place was Phil. From day one, he was genuine, kind, and effortlessly funny. He always had a joke ready, always remembered us, and somehow made every night better just by being himself. Whether he was making our pizzas or serving us at the bar, he brought such a good energy that made us want to stay longer and come back sooner. Phil, thank you for the laughs, the conversations, and for always taking such great care of us. You truly made our nights here special, and that’s something we’ll always remember. This place is amazing because of people like you. If you’re on the island and you don’t stop here at least once, you’re seriously missing out. 🍕🤍

Went here out of curiosity. Ordered a Hawaiian pizza. The pizza is a thin crust pizza. The pizza didn't look good but the fresh ingredients made up for looks. I enjoyed the deep and flavorful sauce and pizza. Fast and friendly service. The place looks great. I'm glad I checked them out. Good beer selection.

Aunty likes pizza and we were bringing takeout so we stopped here on the way to her place. It was passable but not great. Great beer selection! It looks like a fun spot to watch a game with a group. They have one size of pizza which confused us at first when we were looking at the “sizes” of pizzas. 😂 We went at open on a Thursday so it was quick to get in and out. There were already 2 people waiting to go in too.

Pizza is really good but not great. Build your own with unlimited toppings is very limited on what you actually get. Bar like atmosphere and music is a little loud. Not a bad thing unless you want to have a conversation or spend time with the family. Fountain drinks taste odd and they are $4. I will go back but it could be better.

Upon going to this place, I heard many mixed reviews about the staff, food, etc. But i can honestly tell you that we had a great experience. Staff was above and beyond friendly, food tasted great imo, and the beer selection was just enough to satisfy my needs. Definitely is a great atmosphere to watch some sports with the ones you love while enjoying a nice thin crust pizza and a cold one to go along with it. I love the vibes of this place, will definitely go back again. Also, their specialty pizzas are all great but i bet you could make an even better personalized one if you wanted!

The pizza press is a real hidden gem at pearl highlands. They offer pizza with unlimited amounts of toppings with a very wide variety of cheeses and meats. They are similar to pieology but im my opinion pizza press is on a whole different level of awesomeness compared to pieology. Their ingredients are very fresh and it shows in the taste of the finished product. Their garlic cheesy bread is out of this world. Their prices are also very reasonable and the staff there are very friendly and helpful especially to first time customers like myself. All in all I highly recommend pizza press and I will definitely will be going back here again. The pizza and cheesy bread I got was so good it was out of this world!

The Pizza Press is an excellent experience! You customize your own pizza just like you would a sandwich at Subway, and yes, it's every bit as awesome as it sounds. Their ingredients are all very fresh, with tons of choices and premium options like smoked Gouda cheese and fresh basil and cilantro. They also offer some delicious salads and sides. Plus, they boast a great selection of craft beers on tap. There's plenty of seating. Everything is really reasonably priced, too! The bar even has huge screens for watching whatever sports event you're into. This is a great place for the whole family, pau hana, game day, or any time you have a pizza craving. Definitely going back!

Went on opening day and got an opportunity to taste the pizza. I was literally first in line on the second day. It was maybe because they were giving out free pizza... Nonetheless it was a much needed upscale pizza joint that also had a bar. Pearl City doesn't really have upscale bars, only strip clubs and seedy ones. Making your own pizza it always fun and the pizza tasted great.
