La Tour Cafe (Gateway Shopping Center 1140 Kuala St)
About
A Slice of Paris in Pearl City
Stepping into La Tour Cafe within the Gateway Shopping Center, the first thing that greets you is the unmistakable aroma of toasted buttery croissants and freshly pulled espresso. Unlike the frantic pace of typical Hawaii coffee shops, this spot maintains a steady, rhythmic hum—a mix of steam wands hissing and the soft clatter of porcelain against tables. It is an ideal refuge for Pearl City locals needing a quiet mid-morning workspace or a quick afternoon pick-me-up.
Artisan Bakes and Savory Bites
The culinary focus here leans heavily into the French-inspired tradition but with a local touch. Their macaron selection is a standout, featuring vibrant colors and consistent, delicate textures that provide a sharp contrast to the flaky, multilayered crust of their signature golden croissants. If you are stopping by for lunch, the menu transitions well into savory territory with hearty sandwiches served on house-baked baguettes. The crust is intentionally jagged and crisp, so be prepared for a few crumbs on your lap—it is a small price to pay for that level of freshness.
The Local Pace
Situated conveniently near the main thoroughfares of Pearl City, the cafe serves as a bridge between busy errands and a moment of indulgence. While the parking lot in this specific shopping complex can get tight during peak lunch hours, the turnover is generally quick. Whether you are grabbing a box of assorted pastries for the office or settling into a corner chair with a cold brew, the space manages to feel both professional and personal, making it a reliable staple for anyone cruising through the area.

I had the chicken pesto panini, with spinach. The sandwich was very good, it had lots of flavor. The bread was grilled just right, this is definitely a good sandwich. The fries are very flavorful, perfectly cooked (fried) seasoned well. They're known for their macaroons, I haven't had one yet......but I eventually will. The case is full of them with bright colors and as tempting as they may be, I haven't tried them. I'm sure they're pretty good. I will definitely be back, nice spot for lunch to pick up some good food!

For a first time visit, I gotta say it was quite pleasant, not too heavy of a meal, just chose a couple of sandwiches between me, my other half and our friend. I got the wagyu melt, which was amazingly delicious and light for a meal along with the paradise tea, my other half got the tuna sandwich, which was just as good, as my friend got the French dip as we also enjoyed some garlic fries on the side, yum! Soon after, we of course got the macarons! So seeing as how it's my father's birthday, I made to get one of each flavor. And just so my parents can have one of the same flavor, I got them both a green tea macaron. Happy Birthday Dad! Hope you enjoy these! 🎂 🥳 But other than that, I also got some for me and my other half to enjoy later. I do suggest getting the lilikoi macaron.. it's light in flavor and not too terribly sweet. :3 So come enjoy a nice day here at La Tour Cafe with friends and loved ones.

Was looking for a random cafe to eat at for lunch in the area and stumbled across this place! Absolutely love it! Decent variety to choose from and a plethora of different macaroons to try out as well! Gave 4 stars just cause the the chicken pesto I had was lacking in the chicken side and was pretty dry tasting. Everything else was fabulous though! Definitely will be going back to try out the other menu options.
